SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF STUDENT

Rationale:

The Special Program for Employment of Students is DOLE’s youth employment-

bridging program which aims to provide temporary employment to poor but deserving
students, out-of-school youth, and dependents of displaced or would-be displaced
workers during summer and/or Christmas vacation or any time of the year to augment
the family’s income to help ensure that beneficiaries are able to pursue their education.

Objectives:
The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Kalawag II, conducted a Special
Program for the Employment of Students or SPES, to provide their financial needs for
their studies and to provide temporary employment to disadvantaged youth to augment
their family’s income and help ensure that the beneficiaries are able to pursue their
education.

Participants:
There are 20 SPES Beneficiaries employed by the Sangguniang Kabataan of
Barangay Kalawag II, which will be the 60% of their salaries came from and the 40% will
came from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The minimum wage of
the SPES beneficiary was Four Hundered Ninety two Pesos and 32/100 only (492.32)
and they will work as Utility Worker I for 20 days.

METHODOLOGY:
The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Kalawag II conducted a Special
Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) from July 2022 – August 2022. The
area was Barangay wide.

Even though we are experiencing difficulties, the authorities are eager to find
ways to sidtribute services to young people. Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay
Kalawag II continues to support our young generation with appropriate information and
proper services.
