On behalf of the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto, we inform you that Dawit
Solomon Gebru has been accepted into the IS-UP International Summer School “On war and
peace: how tensions and conflicts cross societies”, which will take place in Porto, Portugal,
between the 3th and 7th of July 2023.

This school intends to contribute to the production of knowledge and the articulation between
the academia and civil society, through critical dialogue among participants, researchers and
activists. Over the course of a week, will be discussed topics such as Inequalities and
Intersections; Racism and Colonialism; Body and Gender; Geopolitical Wars; Post-Truth and
Populisms. The school's programme includes lectures, round tables, talking circles, shared
reading sessions and also workshops, guided tours and cultural moments in collaboration with
local artists and organizations.
