San Miguel Corporation, a multi-business corporation with interest in food and beverage, most

renowned for its internationally distributed beer, can only be described in superlatives. It is the oldest
and largest brewer in Southeast Asia. It is also the largest and most continuously profitable company in
the Philippines. With a 90 percent market share, San Miguel's trademark beer completely controls the
Filipino market. According to a brief published in the Economist in 1988, Filipinos order "beer" at pubs
and restaurants knowing they would get a San Miguel.

SMC has diverted its resources into what it feels are potential growth sectors that are associated
with the development and growth of the Philippine economy since implementing its business
diversification program in 2007. SMC thinks that pursuing growth plans inside each business will result in
a more diverse mix of sales and operating income, as well as a better position for SMC to obtain
financing, present new growth prospects, and offset the impact of downturns and business cycles.

They have access to managerial skills, worldwide techniques, and innovative technology through
strategic collaborations with big international firms. Kirin Brewery Co., Ltd., Nihon Yamamura Glass,
Hormel Foods Corporation of the United States, and Korea Water Resources Corporation are all world
leaders in their fields.

SMC is listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE Ticker: SMC). Publicly-listed subsidiaries
include San Miguel Food and Beverage, Inc., Ginebra San Miguel, Inc., and Petron Corporation.
