Mission Statement

Football is more than just a game. It is an arena in which young

people develop relationships and skills that last a lifetime. Here at
Lincoln Northeast we must take pride in doing things the Rocket
way: the right way. Success is measured in terms of the ability of the
student-athlete to reach their full potential. Our responsibility as
coaches is to assist our players and help them reach their full
potential as students, athletes, and people.
Make a difference!!
A.C.T. Mission Statement
A football team consists of several different pieces that
fit together in various ways to achieve success. Without
the pieces you cannot make the puzzle work. On this
team, there are Three Keys to Success that all members
of the program must completely commit to building:
Accountability. Consistency. Trust.
No excuses!!
Program Goals
1. Excel on the playing field, in the classroom, and in the community.
2. Teach the game of football while developing lifelong skills.
3. Emphasize sportsmanship, composure, and class.
4. Guide each student-athlete in reaching their fullest potential.
5. Generate student participation at Lincoln Northeast.
6. Develop a family atmosphere within the football program.
7. Create a sense of pride for the football program within the administration, faculty, and
student body.
8. Maintain a team GPA of 2.9 or above.
9. 100% of seniors participating in football will graduate on-time.
10. Win the City Championship,
11. Honor the game of football.
12. Have fun!

“What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a player." – John Wooden
Expectations of Players
Treat everyone with respect
The best thing a young person can learn is to treat everyone with respect. Each and every person has the
right to be treated with respect at all times. Players will treat their teammates, classmates, coaches,
teachers, administrators and their parents with respect at all times.
Succeed in the classroom
We are not a football vocational school. Players are here to get an education that leads to a lifetime of
success. The outcome of their education is their responsibility. The teachers are here to teach and lead.
The administrators, coaches, and support staff are here to help the students become successful. Football
is a privilege that students earn through hard work and success in the classroom. Their school work is
more important than football.
Accept responsibility
Nobody is responsible for a player’s actions except themself. Passing blame onto another person is not
what a responsible person does. They will not be perfect, but players will take responsibility for their
mistakes and work to correct them. Their ability to fulfill their responsibilities in class, at home, and later
with their family’s will make them better people.
Expectations of Players
No excuses
There is no need for excuses in football or life. Passing the blame onto someone or something
else reinforces the negative action that has happened. Players need to fix problems and issues,
not excuse them. At the end of the day, they are the one who did or did not do the things
needed to succeed.
Develop mental and physical toughness
Learning how to succeed through adversity will make them winners in both football and life.
They will be taught how to make themselves both mentally and physically tougher and how
to find strength in times of need.
Work hard to improve in all aspects of your life
Football is a tool that can guide a player to be a better student and person. The purpose of our
program is to build good people, not just good football players. Players will be encouraged to
strive to be the best person they can be.
Injuries
-If you are injured please let us know and check with the trainers. We have a
great training staff.

-Injured players should still be at practice everyday.

-Injured players should check in with the trainers and get treatment everyday.

-Communication between the players, coaches, parents, trainers, and

information from doctors is key to ensuring the player is safely returning to
play.
Trainers: Bryan Butler and Hannah Landy
Expectations of Parents and Staff
Guidelines for Parent Communication
➔ All meetings must be scheduled by appointment.
➔ 24 hour rule: No meetings, conversations, or communications on game day or before or after a game.
➔ All communication must be professional and respectful.

The following items may be discussed: The following items

● Treatment of their child may not be discussed:
● Safety of their child
● Work habits of their child ● Playing time
● Improvement of their child
● Game strategy
● Opportunities for their child
● Attitude and behavior of their child ● Play calling
● Academics of their child ● Other players
Expectations of Parents and Staff
Be supportive of the program
The goal of the program is to make each of the players a better person and to become the best they can be.
Each and every member of the program should be completely supportive of that aspect of the program. The
coaches, parents and support staff should help each other in the positive development of the players in the
program.
Be involved in the program
A common thread in each successful program is strong parent involvement. There is much that needs to be
done to run a successful program, so the more people involved in the program, the better. The larger the
involvement of parents, the more meaningful experience the players have with the program.
Understand the role of parents
The role of a parent in a program is to cheer for their athlete and contribute to the positive development of
the athlete academically, physically, mentally, and emotionally. This does not include speaking negatively
about other players in the program, coaches in the program, play calling, or game planning. Too often,
parents think that it is part of their responsibility to “coach from the stands.” Any parent who feels as if they
would like to help with the coaching aspect of the program is more than welcome to apply to become a
coach in the program.
