Pippa is now protected

Dear Mrs Barker,

Thank you for choosing LV=. As pet owners ourselves we understand that dogs will be dogs. So it’s good to know that no matter
what Pippa gets up to, she's protected.
Pippa has lifetime cover
By insuring with us, Pippa has lifetime cover. This means that, so long as you renew your policy each year without a break, we'll
help you give Pippa the veterinary care she needs, for as long as she needs it.*. Many policies put a limit on how long they’ll pay
out for. Some even permanently withdraw cover once you’ve claimed a certain amount. But you can rest easy with our genuine
lifetime cover.
If you ever have to make a claim for Pippa, we’ll make the process as straightforward as possible. Plus, as an LV= pet insurance
customer you have 24/7 free access to video consultations with qualified vets, through the FirstVet app. Learn more and register
at lv.com/pet-insurance/first-vet.
Please take a few minutes to read through your Certificate of Insurance and Insurance Product Information Document (IPID) to
make sure we have all your details correct. Please check your payment schedule for the date the first payment will be taken. The
Direct Debit will be set up under Allianz Insurance plc. If you have any questions about your cover, just get in touch with one of our
friendly Customer Service team on 0330 100 9712 or visit www.lv.com/pet-insurance/customer-support for more information.
We’re here to help.
Now that you’ve laid the groundwork for a stress-free life with Pippa, all that’s left to do is have fun and enjoy your time together!
Yours sincerely,
Heather Smith

Have your cover needs for Pippa changed?
When you took out this policy for Pippa, you chose cover for ongoing costs of veterinary treatment for illnesses and injury over her lifetime.
With this type of policy we don't put a limit on how long we'll pay for veterinary treatment. As long as you renew your policy each year,
without a break in cover, your veterinary fees benefit will be refreshed each year and we'll pay claims right into your pet's old age, even if
it's for treatment of the same illness or injury*. Other products may be available, so if your cover needs have changed and you’d like to
discuss your options, please give us a call.

Your Excesses
The excesses are the amounts you pay when you make a claim and these will be deducted from your claim settlement(s).
Veterinary fees - you'll pay the first £75 of veterinary treatment for each unrelated illness or injury, in each policy year.
As Pippa is getting older we want to give you advance notice of a change that'll apply from your next renewal in May 2024. At that time,
the way we apply your excess for Pippa will change. In addition to the fixed amount you pay, you'll also pay 20% of all claims submitted for
veterinary fees. The cost of treating older pets can be exceptionally high. In order to keep insurance affordable for older pets we have to
strike a balance between excess changes and premium increases. We believe this is the fairest way of ensuring both healthy and sick pets
can continue their cover.
Your policy provides an amount of money in each policy year for you to claim for all illnesses and injuries. When your policy renews, this will
be replenished and you'll again have the full amount for the next policy year to claim for all illnesses and injuries. As the amount you can
claim is replenished at each renewal, you'll pay an excess for each illness and injury in each policy year. This means that if Pippa's
treatment dates span two or more policy years you'll pay the excess(es) in each policy year for each illness/injury.
Liability to other people for injury and property damage - you'll pay the first £250 for any claim where property has been damaged.
No other benefits have an excess.

Please check the reverse of this page where any exclusions and clauses (which are in addition to the Terms and Conditions) are shown.
Do any Exclusions or Clauses apply for Pippa?
This section includes key information (which is in addition to your Terms and Conditions) that applies specifically to Pippa’s
cover and also details any condition, group of conditions or event which is usually covered under the policy, but isn’t for
Pippa.
This animal is added to the policy from 11/05/23
Your insurance doesn't cover any illness or injury that happened or showed symptoms before your pet's cover began. If
your pet was ill or injured at any time before the cover started, we won't pay any claim relating to that injury or illness.
Your insurance doesn't cover:
(a) Any illness that showed symptoms in the first 14 days of your pet's first policy year, and (b) Any Injury that happened
within the first 48 hours of your pet's first policy year, If your pet was ill or injured in these timeframes, we won't pay any
claims relating to that injury or illness.

What are my obligations?

We believe these are the most significant policyholder obligations. There are other obligations and you need to read the Terms and Conditions to
understand these.
• Sending us your claim – you must send us your Veterinary fees claims no later than 12 months after your pet received treatment. Any claims we
get after this time won't be covered by the policy. If treatment is ongoing you must make sure that claims are sent to us at least once every 12
months. If you're claiming for any other section of cover please check your Terms and Conditions for details of when you need to send us your
claim.
• Informing us if there's an incident with your dog involving a third party – you must call us as soon as possible if an incident happens that
could lead to a claim under the 'Liability to other people for injury and property damage' section. For example (but not limited to) your dog
causing an injury to a third party or damaging third party property. You should call our specialist liability teams on 01483 218 781 for injuries and
01483 218 782 for property damage.
• Keeping your policy running – you have a Lifetime policy, but to benefit from ongoing cover you must keep paying your premiums and every 12
months you need to renew your insurance policy with us (without any break).
• Dental treatment – we'll cover the treatment of a dental injury or illness providing:
– Your pet had a dental examination by a vet in the 12 months before the first symptoms of the injury/illness were seen, and
– Any treatment recommended as a result of the last dental examination was carried out within 6 months of the examination taking place.
We won't cover a routine or preventative scale and polish.
• Keeping us informed of certain information – throughout your policy you need to tell us about certain information. The things you need to tell us
about are detailed in your Certificate of Insurance and it’s important you check any new documents we send to understand the information we
need. If you don't provide us with the full and accurate information it can result in a claim not being paid or affect the cover we provide.
• Ownership of your pet and where he/she lives – you must be the owner of your pet and he/she must live with you at the address stated on your
Certificate of Insurance. You need to tell us as soon as possible if you no longer own the pet or if he/she stops living with you. This can affect how
much you pay and the cover we provide.
• Changing your level of cover – if you want to change to a higher level of cover you can apply at the renewal of your policy. We’ll then let you know
if we can offer this cover once we’ve reviewed your pet’s veterinary history. You can change to a lower level of cover at any time.

When and how do I pay?

You can pay annually or monthly. The details of how you've chosen to pay are shown on your Certificate of Insurance.

When does the cover start and end?

Your cover starts on 11 May 2023 and the last day of cover is 10 May 2024.

us know before your renewal date.
