Professional Profile
Manimohan has about 44 years of work experience spanning
a wide variety of industry sectors and across a range of organisation functions. He
started his career with a stint in the graphic design & printing industry, which
stimulated a lifelong interest in aesthetics, design and effective visual and verbal
communication. Following this, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry for
about 6 years, gaining strong hands-on experience in Sales, Marketing and
Strategy until a self-developed interest in Computing and IT led to his moving to
a career in IT and business. He has worked in Malaysia, Singapore, India and the United States.

Over the past 40 years or so, Manimohan has gained a vast amount of knowledge, skill and
experience in many industry sectors in the planning of technology strategy as well as being
actively involved in the design, development, implementation and management of IT projects. In
addition, he has been involved in the planning, design and delivery of training and support. During
this period he has worked on many ICT projects, including serving in the position of Chief
Technology Officer of Tenderdirect Sdn Bhd, an MSC company that has since become the de facto
Tender Information Resource in Malaysia.

Since 2001, Manimohan has been involved in academia, starting first as an external lecturer and
subsequently becoming fully involved as Senior Lecturer, Academic Group Leader and finally as
Manager, Academic Quality with Asia Pacific University (formerly APIIT), a premier University in
Malaysia, where he was involved in a leadership role in a full range of new ICT degree programmes.
His academic teaching has ranged widely including subject areas of Data Communications &
Networking, Project Management, Usability and Interface Design, Groupware and Business &
Information Strategy, among others. He has lectured at Undergraduate and Masters level at APU
& Monash University until mid 2021.

With his practical experience over the course of his career in various projects ranging from
specialized data acquisition & process control systems, more traditional IT & business systems to
interactive, Internet and web-based Information and e-Commerce development projects, he has
a special interest in Project Management, which he has taught for many years as an academic
degree subject as well as in corporate training courses. He has also done training in the CMMI
range of related knowledge areas. Knowledge Management & Organisational Learning is a special
academic and practical interest area of his research and teaching. His experience & interest in
people and performance has also led him to successfully design and deliver various programmes
relating to strategy, organizational learning, leadership & development and other soft skill areas.

A Fellow of the British Computer Society, a member of MENSA and a Competent Toastmaster
(CTM), Manimohan is an accomplished public speaker who combines a keen intelligence with a
wicked sense of humour tempered by a deep humanity, and is often invited to present at seminars
and conferences. He is currently looking to contribute in consulting, teaching, & training.
