What are the different things you prepare when there’s a disaster that would come?

We have different ways to prepare to face the incoming disasters however, all of us can agree
that food and medical supplies come first. In addition to the two, many things is also important such as,
Lights, Batteries, Money, Power Banks, Extra Money, Insurance, Beddings or Tents, and other utilities.
Keep in mind that we prioritize ourselves first, and it is okay to think about the important documents we
possess so it is better to store it in a place where it is not considered to risk prone areas. Lastly it is
important to know the evacuation areas and the safe places around the community, it is important to
have the knowledge about the different disasters to prepare beforehand. Safety and comfort of the
family is our number one priority.

Do you think you are prepared when there’s a disaster?

We think we are prepared because of the school curriculum we have since elementary grade.
They teach us lessons on how to prepare in many calamities that can happen to us, and how to treat the
victims or patients. We have many drills that has happens as well as many seminars that shapes or
models our knowledge in disaster readiness and risk reduction. For example, in the school we have
yearly earthquake drill which orient the students on what to properly do during an earthquake, they
teach us the, “duck, cover, and hold technique” and how to properly evacuate after the said disaster.
They teach about how earthquake is formed and what possible outcome the earthquake has, like
tsunami or groundbreaking, aftershocks. We also have knowledge in typhoon, on how to properly ready
some materials, how to protect our home, and when to evacuate. With sufficient knowledge in storm
signals and storm warnings, it is important to listen in the authority and to have the best information we
can gain through news, in television or radio. Lastly we have other knowledge in how to extinguish fires,
and give basic first aid.

How can you say that you are prepared?

We cannot exactly say that we are prepared but we can say that we can face any disaster we
can possibly encounter in our life. The main reasons are, we have enough knowledge on which we will
