What is Design Thinking?
Design Engineering is highest in rank instance of fault-finding thinking and
solving question by cultivating a brand that can be best choice resolution of that
question. Suppose if we proverb a question then we don’t consider answering it
preferably we go and register a fret about it.

OBJECTIVE
In design thinking we believe that rather waiting for genius to come and show us
the way we should try something new on our own! With design thinking, we can build
the bridges to cross over the other side to the new land of promised future, so we can
reliably manufacture our own miracles.

● Innovation is iterative and the outcome of series of experiments.

● Effective innovation involves risk-taking, assessment and mitigation.
● Innovation begins with creativity.
● Innovation is smooth linear process.
● Innovation is about risk-taking.
● Innovation begins with Curiosity.
● Encourages creative consideration of wide array of innovative solutions.
● Can be applied to any field, including higher education.
● Approaches challenges from the Point of View (POV) of the end user.
● Calls for a deeper understanding of that user’s emotional needs.

ABSTRACT

Principle :
To recover some of the kinetic energy that would turn into heat and instead
converts it into electricity.

Understanding the Problem :

Regenerative Braking System is the habit of restricting boat by utilizing the
engine as brakes. Instead of the surplus strength of the taxi being wasted as undesirable
heat, the motors comprise engine converting energy and return few of it to the
electrified line as power.
The cab is generally stimulate from the energetic strength create from the
alternator, which burns fuel. This strength is stocked in a big assault, and secondhand
by an energetic engine that supplies cause to the wheels. The educational braking
happen on the bus is a way to get more adeptness, a suggestion of correction changing
moving power to warm strength through frictional braking; the taxi can convert a good
part of allure moving power back into meddle the artillery, using the alike law as an
engine converting energy. Therefore, if you drive long period of time outside braking,
you'll be stimulate the boat completely from fuel.
Regenerative Braking System comes into allure own when you're sink the city,
and giving a good deal of your period braking. You will still use more fuel in the city
each 5 you drive than on the freeway, though. Thermodynamics understands us that all
incompetence emanates heat production.
For instance, when you brake, the brake pedals increase and a size of heat, or
strength, is unrecoverable the outside planet. Friction in the engine produces heat
also.In most energetic and composite energetic automobiles along the way
contemporary, this is proficient by operating the friction engine as a dynamo, providing
braking armband to the wheels and revitalizing the traction batteries.
The strength determined by enlightening braking can before be secondhand for
force or to capacity taxi appurtenances.

5
Identification of component for problem solving :
1. Generator
2. Energy Storing Unit (ESU)
3. Linking Mechanism
4. Drum Brakes (in vehicle)

PRIOR ART RESEARCH

 Prior art research is all about the existent, it is an evidence that your creation is
before is famous, anyway through some medium. An existent device is ultimate
understandable form of earlier skill.

Regenerative braking system :

 Regenerative braking is an strength improvement mechanism that slows a tool or
object by adapting its moving power into a form that can be either secondhand
promptly or stocked until wanted. In this device, the energetic motor uses the cab's
impetus to restore energy that hopeful alternatively unrecoverable the brake discs
as heat.

Past Uses of Regenerative braking system :

 In electric railways the electricity generated by motion of wheels.

Benefits of Regenerative braking system :

 It reduces the wear and tear on the braking system
 It improves the fuel economy of the vehicle

Understanding the SCAMPER tool :

 Scamper tool is the concept linking with the reverse engineering, as we learn the
words that it holds, it gives us the brief idea of what to use and what not.

Substitute :
 Use ultra capacitor instead of battery

7
Combine :
 Combine friction brake with regenerative brake and make it more efficient.

Adopt :
 Can be use in cars, railways, metros etc place which works on electric system.

Modify :
 Motor
 Battery
 Design

Put to other use :

 In railways, bicycle, trucks, two wheels etc.

Redesign :
 Redesign the efficiency of battery

8
MIND MAPPING CANVAS

“A mind map is a visual representation of hierarchical information that includes a

central idea surrounded by connected branches of associated topics.”

Benefits :
 Helps problem-solve and survey some idea, idea or question.
 Facilitate better understanding of connections and relates between plans and ideas.
 Make it smooth to ideas new plans and thought processes.
 Allow juniors to surely recall facts.
 Help pupils take notes and plan tasks.
 Make it smooth to systematize plans and ideas.

Story Telling

HAPPY : Once I was migrating in the center and at that time my capacity was
nearly make use of finish and in village skilled was no energetic inject so I used my
educational brakes over till I take care of find familiar electric pour.

14
HAPPY : My friend wants to buy a ride and immediately moment of truth the oil
and engine auto rate is speedily increase so I submitted him to buy a energetic
convertible. because energetic machine necessary the power and allure cost is less
equate to oil and engine and likewise the jeep use the educational braking method
so strength form often while Appling the brake and it use to charge assault of
automobile.

SAD : Once an affectionate address was make use of the lyceum accompanying
little speedy and unexpectedly dog enter place front of the jeep as the bus brakes
were of educational brake so it was not close like the normal brakes, so mishap
happen and auto was broken and dog was immorally harmed.

SAD : A period in the past, I was becoming extinguished of station for trade work
at period I seen that my educational brake was in disrepair and this crazy my trip
dangerous. So I take my car to familiar laboratory but this idea was new so skilled
were no skillful peasants free easily. So, I had to maintain the jeep back and
postponed my journey.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT CANVAS

The reason the project is completed activity and the purposes of the project group. The
consequence captures what the project concede possibility lead towards. The result
maybe visualized as a uniting goal during the whole of the project process. "What do
we be going to give to get the purpose? Who are the address consumers of the project?
Who will benefit from the consequence of the project? Are skilled society in the project
crew the one again show the consumers?" All these questions were bred and fixed for
one juniors in the brand picture.

CALCULATIONS

Here we take the data from Tesla model X, which capacity of battery between 60 to
100 kWh.

For instance battery pack is 100 kWh.

Fully charged car drive up to 200 miles which means around 320 km.

320 km required – 100 kWh battery pack

1 km require how many ?

Ans = 0.3125kWh

Consider the power,

P = 0.3125kWh = 0.3125 × 1000watt = 312.5 watt

To find rpm of the wheel, we know the formula

k = 0.001885 x d x N

where,

k - speed in km per hour

d - diameter of wheel in cm

N - rotation per minute

26
If we consider the normal speed of the car 45 km per hour and diameter of wheel to be

42 cm then rpm will be,

45 = 42 x N x 0.001885

∴ N = 568.39 570 rpm

For finding the torque, we know the formula

P = 2πNT/60

∴ T = 60P/2πN

∴ T = (60 x 312.5)/(2 π x 570)

∴ T = 5.235Nm

27
ESTIMATE COST

COMPONETS COST

Battery Pack Around Rs. 6000 - 8000

Motor Around Rs. 5000 - 7000

Transmission System Around Rs. 10000
