By defining each word, regionalism refers as a development of a political or social system based
on one or more such areas. It emphasizes on regional locale and characteristics in art or literature. In simple
term, the excessive pride in one's region and its culture, history, development etc which leads to the belief
that other regions are inferior. While globalization is defined as a connectivity of one country to another. It
is when importing and exporting one’s arts, goods etc. It is a growing interdependence of the world.
2. Discuss the driving forces of regionalism.
Management of independence refers to former colonies require mechanisms to manage their
domestic affairs and relations with one another, as well as with colonizers and other states in general. It is
critical to effectively manage these areas, as they can be a contentious process. They accomplish this by
forming regional alliances. Second, Management of interdependence, States must manage their
interdependence with other countries on economic, political, and social levels. They establish norms and
rules by which they can achieve common objectives such as security, trade, and investment. Member

opposition to multilateral liberation. It is more strategic or political and it has more positive than negative
political effects.
3. Elaborate different approaches to regionalism.
Supranationalism is defined as sovereignty in a way that limits their autonomy in deciding over
issues, whether economic, military, or political in nature. While Intergovernmentalism refers to the
integration based largely on the principle of non-interference or intervention in domestic matters.
