What is your inquiry question that interests you for further research? It should be a question that
connects with a purpose, passion or personalized area of interest for you. This is a question that you

My inquiry question is:

How to create a 3d printed mask? Where else can you use this

Rationale/context: Detail your reasons for choosing this inquiry question. Explain WHY you are
choosing to investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry connect to
your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?

I have had an interest into trying to create something like this for a while now but never got the
chance to expand on it, this project is perfect motivation to expand and create something like this. I
want to see how much I will like this and if I do try and pursue such career.

Background: What background knowledge/connections/prior learning do you have in this area of
inquiry?

I do not have much of a background on this specific topic which is one reason I chose it. I want to
learn this topic and have another skill, my dad is good at using the program I will use to create part
of the mask which is quite helpful but other than that my experience is quite limited.

Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What connections
does this inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals?

This certain project will take me hours to complete as I want to, and I am a perfectionist so I will
want every little detail to be absolutely perfect or I will not be that happy with my project this project
will improve my patience, my discipline and my determination for other similar projects that I might
do in the future.

competencies will be connected with your project? Outline and explain the connections.

This will absolutely help my self-determination since I will be having to motivate myself it will
improve my self-regulation because I will be responsible for getting this project done in time
My critical thinking will also be improved and it will help my creative thinking. To be more specific I
will generate ideas and expand on them, I will also be developing new ideas. It will improve my self
regulation since I will need to have a goal that I reach every day while I work towards the end of the
project.

I will most likely be making a website with everything that you might need to know about this
project. Some small videos to just text to telling the viewer what to do. I will try to be as detailed as
possible also since I myself am not very experienced on this topic it will be a interesting learning
curve for myself.

Description of my Capstone project. Specific Project Details of the Capstone Project: what will
you research, create, study, produce, solve, investigate? What product will be produced at the end
of this project for evaluation. Write a one-page description outlining your proposal.
So I will start by finding a copy of a skull for my 3d print edition program then I will cut and morph it
which will take a very long time, the reason I am taking a pre made 3d image of a skull is because
I do not have enough time or skill to create one from scratch, after I’m done I will 3d print it which
will also probably take a while then I will start my website detailing how and what I did so far.
Afterwards I will be looking for some kind of Balaclava to stick the 3d printed skull on. I will cut the
eyes of the balaclava so it will be more comfortable for the person wearing it. I will update my
website letting everyone know what I have done so far then I will make sure that I can wear it.
Before even continuing to the next step that is the time where it needs to be comfortable wearing
it. Now I will be carving a symbol on the forehead of the mask to match the one I am creating.
After I’m sure that it’s comfortable and fits my head fine I will need to find an item almost like
braids to put on top. If all is good up until that point I will simply need to update my website on
what I’ve one until then and it will mostly be done. I will then see if I forgot anything and if not I will
just see if I can add anything to make it look more accurate like the one I’m making. If the mask is
complete and the website is complete, I then will check every step on my website and see what
can also be helpful for other similar projects like this and simply tell them.

Resources/ Technology/Skills: Make an assessment of the resources, technology and skills you
will need to be able to complete this project. What is your plan to be able to access/learn all of the
resources necessary to achieve completion of this project? Detail your plans.

I will need to be very good at using a computer and specifically the program I will be using, since 3d
printing is extremely difficult. I will also possibly be learning how to sew and I must be able to
improvise if something goes wrong

Mentors/Community Connections: What types of mentor(s)/community connections will you

need to help you complete your capstone project? How will your mentor(s) help you? What is your
plan to access the mentorship/community connections necessary for this project?

The easiest way to go with this is by asking my dad who is decent with 3d printing and go from
there. I. Will have to do research to find a mentor outside of my family, my plan would be to ask the
office and see if there are any teachers who know how to use one well and see if they could be my
mentor.

Project limitations: What are some project limitations and potential obstacles that you foresee that
might affect progress with your Capstone Project?

The learning curve into even creating the 3d printed skull I need is probably the most hard step in
this entire project and it is also the first step then I might have problems actually sticking the 3d
printed skull on a balaclava or whatever I use, also getting the right balaclava or material for one
might be difficult. My 3d printing machine could just stop working (I sure hope not)

Other considerations: List and detail any other related information/ considerations about your
project that you feel should be included in your project proposal.

If 3d printing doesn’t work or takes too long I will have to create it my hand using plastic or
something,
