ELF BISCUITS MATHS CHALLENGE

Task 1
 Choose one of the cookie cutter shapes and
draw round it on squared paper.
 Calculate the area of the shape in squares (as
best you can – it might have to be
approximate).
 Choose a scale (NOT 1:1) and re-draw the shape
to the new scale size.

Task 2
 Do the same with another cookie cutter shape,
but this time give it to a friend to calculate the
area and re-draw the shape to the scale size
that you have chosen.
 Tell them (kindly!) if they are right or wrong!

 Calculate how much of each of the ingredients
you will need to make 48 biscuits (don’t forget
to include the correct units)
