COURSE OUTCOME ASSESSMENT PLAN

COA 3: Define the impact of social media on the student’s life and Philippine society in general.

Social media has a significant impact on the lives of students and on Philippine society as a
whole. There are some of the ways in which social media has affected areas such as on
communication, social media has made it easier for students to communicate with their peers, teachers,
and even people from other countries. It has also revolutionized the way people communicate in the
Philippines, enabling Filipinos to connect with friends and family members around the World. Second is
education, social media has opened up new opportunities for education, from online courses to study
groups and educational resources. It has also enabled students to collaborate and share information more
easily. Third is the mental health, social media can have both positive and negative effects on mental
health. On the one hand, it can provide a sense of community and support for students. On the other
hand, it can also contribute to feelings of anxiety, depression, and loneliness. Fourth is the Cyberbullying,
social media has made it easier for bullies to target their victims, often anonymously. This has led to an
increase in cyberbullying, which can have serious consequences for the mental health and well-being of
students. Then lastly, the politics and social movements, social media has played a significant role in
shaping political discourse and social movements in the Philippines. It has enabled people to voice their
opinions and to organize protests and other forms of activism.

Overall, social media has had a profound impact on the lives of students and on Philippine society
in general. While it has brought many benefits, it has also posed new challenges and risks that need to be
addressed.
