in Surah Al Asr

َ ‫ = ت َ َوا‬enjoin each other = advice one another


‫صوا‬
Tawaasau’ used twice in the ayah speaks high about the need
to adopt naseeha and tanaasau’ in one’s real life

sincerity as well.

is not advice at all!

 GIVING SINCERE ADVICE IS THE WAY OF THE PROPHETS


 Nooh (A.S) said:

َ‫ح لَ ُك ْم َوأ َ ْعلَ ُم ِمنَ اللَّـ ِه َما ََل ت َ ْعلَ ُمون‬ َ ‫أ ُ َب ِلِّغُ ُك ْم ِر َس َاَل ِت َر ِبِّي َوأَن‬
ُ ‫ص‬

 Nooh said, “I convey to you the messages of my Lord and advise you;
and I know from Allah what you do not know”.

 Saalih (A.S) said:

ِ َّ‫َولَ ٰـ ِكن ََّل ت ُ ِحبُّونَ الن‬


َ‫اص ِحين‬ ‫ص ْحتُ لَ ُك ْم‬
َ َ‫َوقَا َل َيا قَ ْو ِم لَقَ ْد أَ ْبلَ ْغت ُ ُك ْم ِر َسالَةَ َر ِبِّي َون‬

“and he said, ‘O my people, I had certainly conveyed to you the message


of my Lord and I advised you, but you do not like advisors.’”

Let’s Read what Shuayb (A.S) Said…


THE IMPORTANCE OF SEEKING ADVICE IN ISLAM

 Shuayb (A.S) said:

َ‫س ٰى َعلَ ٰى قَ ْو ٍم َكافِ ِرين‬


َ ‫ْف آ‬ ُ َ‫ل‬
َ ‫ك ْم ۖ فَ َكي‬ َ َ‫فَتَ َولَّ ٰى َع ْن ُه ْم َوقَا َل َيا قَ ْو ِم لَقَ ْد أَ ْبلَ ْغت ُ ُك ْم ِر َس َاَل ِت َر ِبِّي َون‬
ُ‫ص ْحت‬

“And he turned away from them and said, "O my people, I had certainly
conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and advised you, so how
could I grieve for a disbelieving people?“ (7: 93)

َ ُ‫ون ْالقَ ْو َل فَيَت َّ ِبع‬


َ ‫ون أ َ ْح‬
ۖ ُ‫سنَه‬ َ ‫الَّ ِذ‬
َ ُ‫ين يَ ْست َ ِمع‬
ۖ ُ‫ين َه َدا ُه ُم اللَّـه‬ َ ‫أُولَ ٰـ ِئ َك الَّ ِذ‬
ِ ‫َوأُولَ ٰـ ِئ َك ُه ْم أُولُو ْاْل َ ْلبَا‬
‫ب‬
 “Who listen to speech and follow the best of it. Those
are the ones Allah has guided, and those are people
of understanding”. (Surah Az-Zumar)
