After almost ten days and counting of participating in Work Immersion, I can say that it was truly a wonderful trip, an unforgettable experience, and something I will always cherish. I never envisioned such an exciting moment in my life, but this was the first time I felt like an employee. All of the hardships, giving up, suffering, joy, and laughter that we have experienced together. I was happy to have my immersion at Eastern Samar Provincial Hospital (ESPH) particularly in E-Kunsulta Section. I was overjoyed to be immersed in that section because there I can apply some of my skills as a student. However, even a short period of time had made me realize how enjoyable and at the same time, stressful to work at hospital and to serve people.
In the first day of my work
immersion I was afraid to be late because of my expectation that they are strict particular in punctuality. So that I was early at the TCTV also my co immersion classmates. In the first day of my work immersion, I was afraid to be late because of my expectation that they are strict particular in punctuality. So that I was early at the Hospital also my co immersion classmates. We waited there for almost 1 hour because the one who’s going to orient us is still not there. Ma’am Gemma was the chlauihj of the hospital and she oriented us first about the hospital, their vision and mission and their rules. Next is we go to our assigned section; there we meet our supervisor Sir Lyndon. First, he oriented us what are we going to do in the office and told us some of his office rules. Next to that is he let us observe how he work and give us time to adjust to the new environment. During my work immersion on the second day, I was prepared enough for my work. Me and my classmate divided the task to make it easier and faster. I’m the one that is going to interview the patient and she is the one who signed the patient’s prescription paper. I’m also the one who’s registering patients to Philhealth so that philhealth would cover their bills or the one that make some patients philhealth. So far, my experience there was fun there I meet different kind of people that test my patience and also there I was able to be more understanding and careful with my words and actions. At the same time, I can say that it is also somewhat boring because most of my time was wasted by sitting and waiting for nothing. Why? Because sometime is just me and my classmate Mavien. If there are no more patients then our work is already done and after that all you have to do is wait and be patient if there is something that is assigned to you. After a few weeks of immersion, I have realized some things that will really be useful for my future. First, punctuality is very essential because in this simple way, you can how serious you are to your job, next would-be patience. Patience when it comes to the tasks that they’re going to give you, as well as the times that you’re just waiting for the next task that will be given to you, even if you already got bored waiting for nothing. And lastly, always poses a positive attitude. Because positivity is next to tranquility. To sum it all up, I am glad for another experiences that I will treasure the most. There, I have experienced new things that aren’t familiar with the things I usually do at school. I have met new people. And learned something.
