1. Instructions for the use of the user manual, update


service

1 Purpose and scope of the MANUAL


• The USER MANUAL contains instructions and information to enable the
service personnel to ensure proper maintenance and repair work of
BIZERBA products. Possession of the MANUAL is obligatory for all BIZERBA
aftersales service organizations.

Use of the MANUAL


• In order to facilitate quick and easy access to the required information or
portion of text, the manual is divided into sections. Each section contains
a list of contents and the index number is printed in the page margin.

Distribution of the MANUAL and update Service


• Page number and relevant amendment appear at the foot of every page.
The MANUAL is issued with every product supply and in special cases the
MANUAL may be obtained directly from the aftersales service in Bizerba.
Orders should quote the order number indicated on the cover page.
• Changes thereafter made to the MANUAL will automatically be forwarded
in soft format to Bizerba local office as a routine. In the event that
changes in documentation will be submitted, the holder is advised to
supplement or exchange such pages immediately. Each amendment will
be recorded in the list of contents in index 2.

Highlighting
This symbol separates important information from the other

Attention
This symbol indicates that the relevant instructions are to be

the unit.

Warning
This symbol means that noncompliance with the relevant

1. GENERAL

1.1 Introduction
1 With the BIZERBA Weighing Indicator LT, you own a perfect combination of
the reliable hardware design and the sophisticated software technology. The
unit is developed using the MCS – 51 single chip micro processing unit and
high speed analog to digital converter technology. This unit is an optimum
combination of the hardware and software technology giving high speed
conversion rates for analog to digital updates and with extremely high
stability rate which is extensively required in static weighing applications.

2. INSTALLATION & INTERFACING

2.1 Front view of the indicator

2.1.1 Display
Display consists of 6 digit 7-segment LED's (red / blue). On power ON the
indicator checks itself by an automatic display check. On completion of the
check the controller enters into weighing mode.

2.1.2 Keypad

Used to enter parameter configuration modes if


MENU pressed during weighing mode

TARE key is used to tare a specific amount of weight eg.


TARE Empty container weight so as to display net weight
which is indicated by the NET status LED on the display.
To clear the Tare value, press this key again & the
indicator will again show gross weight.
On pressing ZERO key the weight will be zeroed & the
ZERO zero status LED will be ON only if the current weight
is in valid zero range which is 4% of the full scale capacity.

1)Used to add a LSB digit on display during configuration


or calibration.
2)Used to hold the value of the weight reading
on the display.

1)Used to increment the LSB from 0 to 9 and back to 0


during the parameter setting or calibration.
2)Used for Accumulation function.

1)Used to confirm a particular amended parameter in


ENTER configuration mode.
2)Used to enter into the settings of the parameter

2 currently shown on the display if pressed after MENU key.

2.1.3 Status LED Description

LED Description when ON


Mains To Indicate that the MAINS supply is present.
Hold To indicate that the displayed value is made to hold.
Accu To indicate that the reading shown is accumulated weight
Stable To indicate that the displayed reading is stable.
Net To indicate that the displayed weight is net weight i.e. some
weight is tared by pressing TARE key.
Zero Glows when the indicated value on the display is zero.
Under To indicate that the measured weight is less than acceptable
limits if Tolerance-Check Mode is enabled.
Accept To indicate that the measured weight is within the
acceptable limits if Tolerance-Check Mode is enabled.
Over To indicate that the measured weight is more than
acceptable limits if Tolerance-Check Mode is enabled.

2.1 Analog load cell connection


5- Pin Female RF connector is used for connecting load cell with the
indicator. Pin configuration is as shown below.

2.1 Communication interfacing


The serial ports can transmit data to a printer, computer, remote display etc.
The serial port also has RS485 which is optional port. The maximum
recommended cable length for RS-232 communications is 50 feet ( 15
meters), for RS-485 communications is 1000 feet ( 330 meters).
Connection details of communication ports are as shown below.

3. CALIBRATION
Connect load cell as per connection diagram & do adc offset setting the
calibration procedure described bellow:

Switch on the indicator & follow the sequence of steps bellow.

4. OPERATION

4.1 Parameter Configuration

Before we can start using LT indicator for any application, it has to be


configured i.e. there are some parameters which has to be set in order to
have efficient operation and to get desired output out of the indicator.
Following are the steps to be followed for this purpose.

4.1.1 Accumulation Function

Accumulation function allows us to add up the weight values shown on the


display if the ACCU key is pressed after every weight value to be included in
the accumulation is displayed. Maximum 255 additions are possible using
this indicator. To view the accumulated weight and the number of times the
accumulation is done, we follow the following procedure.

Sequence of Operation Display

MENU
Press in weighing mode.

4.1.2 Tolerance-Check Function

Using this indicator we can set upper and lower tolerance limits for check-
weighing application. To set these limits and to activate and de-activate this
tolerance-check function, we follow the following procedure.

Sequence of Operation Display

MENU
Press in weighing mode.

Press ENTER

4 Key in the nominal weight value


in the format set at [dec pt ] field.

Press ENTER

Key in the upper limit for the


tolerance band in the format
set at [dec pt ] field.

5. SETTINGS

5.1 Power-ON Zero Setting


This feature allows us to nullify the weight applied on the platform before
the indicator is switched ON. To activate or deactivate this feature, we
follow the following procedure.

6. ERRORS
6.1 Error Indication
Display Description

ERROR0 The weight to be zeroed is not within the zero limit.

ERROR1 Value entered at CAL PT 1 field is greater than the set capacity.

ERROR2 Value entered at CAL PT 2 field is greater than the set capacity.

Value entered at CAL PT 2 field is greater than the value entered


ERROR3
at CAL PT 1 field but the internal counts for CAL PT 2 weight is
less than that of CAL PT 1 weight.

ERROR4 Value entered at CAL PT 2 field is less than the value entered at

CAL PT 1 field but the internal counts for CAL PT 2 weight is
greater than that of CAL PT 1 weight.
