Colosseum

Who has not heard of the Colosseum, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World? This
monumental amphitheatre was built between 70 and 80 CE by the Flavian emperors as a gift to the
Roman people. You can step into the arena floor that hosted events like gladiator games, theatre
performances, and even public executions – just make sure you buy tickets in advance to skip the
queues.

Vatican Museum

Of all the historical places in Rome, the 54 galleries of the Vatican Museums are a must-visit. Explore
the largest collection of art in the world by walking around the Vatican Palace’s 1,400 rooms and
galleries such as the four Raphael’s Rooms and the Borgia Apartment. Don’t miss Michelangelo’s
masterpiece at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel!

Open air bus

A great opportunity to explore Rome is to take an open-top bus which will take you on a sightseeing
tour around the most famous landmarks. You can get off to visit places you like and then back on the
bus when you want.

Shopping center Porta di Roma

If you are tired by the end of the day or you just prefer shopping as a form of entertainment, you can
check out the Porta di Roma shopping mall. Italy’s largest shopping center offers over 240 shops and
restaurants, various events, and even an exhibition of an ancient Roman village discovered during
the mall’s construction. You can also see the famous annual summer festival if you are visiting in
June and July. There’s really something for everyone there!
