Choose a problem in your life you wold like to solve.

Enumerate the steps in the CDIO process and explain how you can apply each step in solving the
aforementioned problem.

PROBLEM: Lack of Sleep / messed up sleep schedule

I have been struggling with insomnia for a few months now. I have found it to be very difficult to fall
asleep at night, and I often wake up several times during the night feeling groggy in the morning. Not
only is affecting my mental health but also my performance. I had felt better when I was able to have
a normal sleep cycle but since some months ago I have been finding it extremely hard to get a normal
sleep cycle.

1. Concieve
The first step involved in the CDIO is conceiving a solution to the problem and identifying the factors
that make it harder for me to sleep and why this problem has affected my overall quality of life. This
could involve creating a sleep schedule that I can stick to, limiting my caffeine intake, or practicing
proper time management, For example, if caffeine intake is a major factor that affects my sleep
schedule, then I would need to design a new sleep schedule that will involve less caffeine. Once I have
made this change, I would need to monitor and track how this has affected my overall sleep schedule.

2. Design
The next step in the CDIO process would be designing a solution to address the factors identified. To
address the need for a more structured and consistent sleep schedule, I would design a new sleep
schedule that is more structured and consistent than my current schedule. This could involve setting a
specific bedtime and wake-up time, as well as establishing a nighttime routine to help me relax and
wind down before going to bed.To address the need to limit caffeine intake, I would design a plan to
gradually reduce my caffeine consumption and replace it with healthier alternatives.

3. Implement
The third step in the CDIO process is implementing the solution. This involves putting the new sleep
schedule and caffeine reduction plan into action, as well as consistently practicing good time
management to ensure that I get the quality of sleep I need and get back on track with my work and
school schedule.

4. Operate
Finally, the fourth step in the CDIO process is to operate and optimize. This involves assessing how
well the new sleep schedule is working, as well as identifying areas that may need to be addressed.
For example, if the new sleep schedule is not helping me get back on track with my work and school
schedule, then I would need to make adjustments to accommodate my new sleeping schedule.
Similarly, if the new caffeine reduction plan is not effective, then I would need to consider whether it
should be major factor in the scope of all things.
