Factors of Project success

Planning
Investment for enough time and resources are very much necessary for a project to
be successful. Time for solid planning of a project is not taken by many project
managers, they rush to the completion of the project without taking enough time
for planning. All the project team members should have complete information
about the project so that everyone involved in that project should know where the
project is going. A good plan keeps the team aware of progress and focused on the
project (Papke-Shields & Boyer-Wright, 2017). A good plan performs as an early
warning system so that slippage of tasks can be avoided. Project milestones and
deliverables are clearly documented with the help of a good plan. A valid and
realistic timescale can be gained with the help of a good plan.
Risk management
Everyone knows about the fact that the project does not go as planned. Some
projects fail due to some risk arises suddenly during a project. A risk log must be
made with an action plan so that the risk that arises during the project can be
tackled. It is important to inform all the shareholders about the risk factor and its
existence area (Radujković & Sjekavica, 2017). With a set plan the team can solve
all the problems in an efficient manner even if something happens to any one of the
team members. The team gets the confidence to face project risks and make the
consumers feel secured with the project’s progress.
Communication
Listening to outside sources and a closer look at details is vital for project success.
Open communication should be done within the team. The team should remain
well informed to work under a specific time table. A negative impact on other parts
of the project happens if a problem on one part of the project occurs. The best way
to avoid problems from occurring is good communication. Within the team, good
communication should be focused internally. An organized history of major
projects will be convenient to access business processes and improved policy. A
team may repeat an old mistake if this is not done. Paying attention and listening to
stakeholders is an important ingredient for the team to bring success. Good
communication should also include when to say no (Wu et al., 2017). Anything
that can’t be given should not be promised by the project team. A project team
should always be honest about what can be done and what can’t be done.
Main purpose of Monitoring and controlling a project
Project monitoring and controlling help to keep the project on track. To complete
the project on time, the right controls can play a vital role. Seamless execution of
tasks can happen by monitoring and controlling a project. Project monitoring and
controlling improve efficiency and productivity and to complete projects on time
right controls should be made. The main purpose of monitoring and controlling a
project is to be active in finding issues and taking the right action. It can be said
that for the purpose of executing the project, it is important to monitor and control
the process should perform some vital roles so that major problems can be
identified and take corrective action on time.

Hi Surya,

You have correctly mentioned the different factors which significantly contribute towards the success of a
project. Proper planning is a  backbone to the project, if we do accurate planning then we can execute in
a correct direction. So, its always advisible to take enough time for planning a project and most of the
items will be taken care of. Risk management is another aspect of success criteria, where, we identify all
the possible risks during the planning phase itself and categorise them as high priority, medium priority
and low priority. Then we prepare a risk mitigation plan as per their priority , so that we will be prepared
for any kind of risks occure while execution.
Thanks,

Sazzy!!!

Surya,

Project progress is very important to be monitored and to ensure that, project controls need to be set prior
to project execution. These plans cover “technological, budgetary, scheduling, organizational, and risk-
related aspects of a project.” (Shtub, Rosenwein, 2017) The use of right equipment, technologies,
processes, and materials needs to be given a thought in the initial stages of the project. Even within the
virtual construction department, I noticed the need to invest on a software that increases productivity
requires a thorough investigation before investing in it.

Hello Surya

In my opinion, most project managers do not take the time to solidly schedule a project. A successful
early warning system acts to prevent dropping tasks. Plan achievements and outcomes with the aid of a
successful strategy are well known. This aspect did not work for me because to resolve the danger
occurring during the process, a Risk Log must be made for the action plan. The risk factor and area of life
should be told by all shareholders. The author was successful in making me feel Hearing external sources
and looking at information is important to the progress of the project. It was clear that the author was
trying to play an important role in ensuring timely completion of the project where a project can be tracked
and managed without any problems.
