FADE IN:
A bright blue sky filled with clouds encompassed the never-ending nothingness. As though no
living thing can survive above the clouds, a CASTLE SCHOOL appeared suddenly, the only
living part alive, with streaks of light and firelike fairies.

EXT. SCHOOL - DAY

EMERALD (V.O.):
We were never really friends. Or at least that’s what she thought.
You see, I was always an outsider, a “traveler”,
moving from place to place when society feared the limits
of my power controlled through my mind.

EMERALD living on Earth in the middle of eating a pepper, but it was hotter than expected. She
scared away people, her eyes glowing red and started a fire at her school.

We were born with this uncontrollable and reckless power

that whatever we imagined to come true, would eventually happen.
Really deep dive with that “eventually” word though, because I still have yet to
understand what really is happening. But I’m sure it’ll be fine!
But, that’s when I received an acceptance letter from the “School of Travelers”
Nonsense… but mother told me that was the only area
where I would with my people and be “normal”.
It all started on my first day there—the moment I met Sapphire.
It was orientation and I, well, tried to be more prepared than I should have been.

Satchel crossed over EMERALD’s body, two luggages held on her right hand, map held on her
left, and a filled backpack on her back, she walked to the two door entrance of the school.
Confused she continued to walk forward until—

SAPPHIRE:
(falls to the floor)
Ouch! Oh my gosh! My dress!

EMERALD:
I’m so sorry! Let me try and clean it up for you. Please, I assist.

SAPPHIRE:
(distraught but trying to cover it up)
Ah. No worries, it's no problem… I have more anyway and... it’s fine.

EMERALD:
I’m so sorry. I’m Emerald, by the way.

SAPPHIRE:
Sapphire. Are you also a first year student? Lets go to the opening festival together after putting
down the luggages!

EMERALD:
Sure! But I’m quite lost. It is my first time here.

SAPPHIRE:
No worry! Follow me!

SAPPHIRE and EMERALD chatted and walked to the dorm.

INT. DORM - DAY

SAPPHIRE:
Finally here! Lets pick a bed…do you have a roommate yet? Let’s be roommates if you don’t
have one already.

EMERALD:
Sure!

SAPPHIRE and EMERALD put their stuffs down. Together, they walked to the opening festival.

EXT. SCHOOL - EVENING

EMERALD:
(looking around)
Wow! (pointing at a senior student show) Look at that! It is so cool! This is my first time seeing
such a showcase!

SAPPHIRE:
(looking around and saw Amethyst)
Look! (tabing Emerald’s shoulder) You see that womann? Her name is Amethyst and I hear that
she is the best teacher here! This year she is taking one student to study below her and I’m going
to try my best!

EMERALD:
Nice!

Amethyst walks on the stage, the students quiet down.

AMETHYST:
(looking at the crowd)
Good evening everyone! Welcome to the Castle School Beyond Cloud. I am glad to see all of
your faces, no matter old or new. I hope you all will try your best learning, find a great teacher,
and use your abilities wisely. It is my pleasure to meet all of you. Enjoy your school year!

The crowd start to clap while AMETHYST walks down the stage.

SAPPHIRE:
I have to say, for real, she is the purpose I come to this school instead of the other ones. I’m
gonna try my best and become her one and only student!

EMERALD:
(mumbling while dazing)
Do we all have to choose a teacher? I guess I will choose her too… It seems like she knows
everything and is the most experienced one with all the skills…

SAPPHIRE:
Of course she is the best one! WAIT WHAT? You are going to compete against me for that one
spot? What do you mean? I thought we were friends!

SAPPHIRE ran away.

EMERALD:
(trying to chase SAPPHIRE)
Sapphire! I mean we are friends is just I want that spot too! We just compete and tour best for it!
It’s okay and completely fair! We can be friends and competitors at the same time! I won’t treat
you any different!

EXT. PRACTICE GROUND - DAY

Days later, the first year students are practicing entry level magics that were taught by RUBY on
their own in the free area during recess. Meanwhile, RUBY walks in with a poster on her hand.

RUBY:
(standing in the middle front of all the students)

Hi students! Its nice to see all of you practicing! As you all know in less than a month you guys
will compete against each other and select your desire teacher for further studies. During the past
few days, our teachers has recorded down your daily grades and level in advancing your magic
skill. There is a total of three rounds that you have to compete against each other, and on this
poster it will list your competitor for the first and second round. From there, the winner will
compete for their desire teacher. Wish you all good luck!

RUBY turned around and sticked the poster on the wall. The students came over to see their
opponent and went back to their spot to practice.

EXT. COMPETE STADIUM - DAY

RUBY:
Welcome everyone! It is our pleasure to have you all here for the Choose your teacher contest of
our first year students (lol)! Today, they will compete against their friends in order to win and be
the first to choose their teachers! (Cheering crowds)
First, lets welcome SAPPHIRE and KATHY, MIYA and EMERALD, SHARON and EVA, as
well as LUCY and CRYSTAL! Come on to the stage!

The called students walked on to the stage. Bowed to each other, and got to starting position.

RUBY:
All ready? (Blow whistle) GO!

The four pair of students compete each other with all they have learned. Within a couple
minutes, it is clear that SAPPHIRE, EMERALD, EVA and CRYSTAL are on the lead for a win.

RUBY:
1 minutes left!...

30 seconds left!...

5!
4!
3!
2!
1!

STOP!
First round! SAPPHIRE, EMERALD, EVA, and CRYSTAL wins! You have five minutes until
next round.

All contestant rested for five minutes and got onto the stage for the second round. The second
round was quick, With SAPPHIRE vs. EVA, SAPPHIRE wining, EMERALD and CRYSTAL,
EMERALD winning.

The two “past” friends were opponent of each other. The two of them walked on stage and stood
in front of each other.

EXT. ARENA - DAY

EMERALD
I really wish we can still be friends Sapphire.

SAPPHIRE
Sure, if you give up right now and lose to me, I will consider our friendship.

EMERALD
I am really sorry, but I can not. Becoming a student of Amethyst is my dream, and I am not
going to give up.

SAPPHIRE
Hmph, then quite blabbing, there is no friendship between me and you. And I will be the one
who becomes the student of Amethyst and become the strongest student in the entire school.

EMERALD
Sapphire…

As the two finalists get in place, the final match begins after RUBY explains the rules one more
time.

RUBY
Alright, girls, this is the final match of the Annual School Festival Competition, and the winner
of this match will become the student of our school, strongest professor, Amethyst. I know that
both of you want to win, but remember, during the match, you are not allowed to use any other
weapons outside of the one provided by the school, and you are not allowed to continue
attacking when the other person has already lost, and lastly, no outside sources are allowed to
help you. Understood?

EMERALD AND SAPPHIRE

Understood.

RUBY
Alright then. The match begins!

As the final match begins, EMERALD and SAPPHIRE both leaps into the air and begin
swinging their swords at each other. Neither of the two students let their guard down from the
other.

AMETHYST (O.S.)
EMERALD has really grown these past few months, hasn’t she? She couldn’t even pick up the
sword when she first arrived.

SAPPHIRE
(falls back from a hit)
How is this possible?! How have you grown so much?!

SAPPHIRE (V.O.)
If this match continues, I might lose! I have used my full strength, but she can still handle my
moves…

EMERALD (V.O.)
Just a little longer… A little more…

RUBY
(leans towards AMETHYST)
EMERALD really has grown, hasn’t she? Looks like she might be your first student Amethyst.

AMETHYST
(showing satisfaction)
Mmm…

It has been thirty minutes since the match had begun, and neither of the two girls seems to be
losing. Suddenly, the sword that AMETHYST had gifted EMERALD, flies towards the two.

EMERALD
(smiling)
Have you finally seen me as your owner? I am very happy to see you, but I cannot have you help
me right now. I cannot have you interfere with the competition because it is against the rules.
Please go back… GO BACK

The sword flies back to where it came from, EMERALD’s bedroom.

SAPPHIRE
HA! Do you think you are so nice not to let other swords interfere? Stop faking it! If it wasn’t
because everyone was watching, you would have used it from the beginning!

EMERALD
I would not. I would never cheat.

SAPPHIRE
(shows anger)
Who is going to believe you with your words huh? Who knows if you have already used
something before this competition, you might have taken drugs to improve your powers!

EMERALD
I know you won’t trust me, but I have not and I never will.

SAPPHIRE (V.O.)
I will wipe that smile off your face!

SAPPHIRE turns her body slightly and a small needle slides out her sleeve. She throws the
needle at EMERALD through her movement of swinging the sword.

EMERALD (V.O.)
(falls back)
Did something sting me on my shoulder?

SAPPHIRE
Is this all you’ve got?! With this much power, you will never win me!

EMERALD uses her full powers, and a light ignites, blinding everyone

SAPPHIRE (V.O.)
How has she still not fallen?!

The blinding light slowly fades, and EMERALD falls into the clouds beneath them.

SAPPHIRE
I WON!

RUBY

Oh… RIGHT! I announce the winner of the competition is SAPPHIRE!

AMETHYST stares at SAPPHIRE and EMERALD for a while…

AMETHYST
(towards RUBY)
Go take a look at EMERALD’s condition and SAPPHIRE’s hand.

SAPPHIRE (V.O.)
What is she looking at?! Did she realize my actions during the battle? No, it shouldn’t be, I did
everything so smoothly…

SAPPHIRE hide her hands under the long sleeves with needles and lowered her head when
AMETHYST glanced at her, pretending to be a nervous student, avoiding eye contact with
AMERHYST.

AMETHYST
(looking at SAPPHIRE) You’re very talented. I see on stage of how you move, your movements
are smooth and full of power, take a lot of time to practice, right?

SAPPHIRE
(surprised)Yes, I made up my mind that I must succeed in getting the first place. I have prepared
for today for a long time.

AMETHYST
Yes, I do see your desire and preparation for this, but…(she fly down to EMERALD) I choose
her as my first student.

RUBY/EMERALD
What?

SAPPHIRE's eyes widened in shock, she opened her mouth wanting to express her
disappointment, but she then closes her mouth when she see AMETHYST’s eyes.

AMETHYST
You know what happened, and how you get “first place”.

AMETHYST put her hand on EMERALD’s shoulder, on EMERALD’s shoulder there’s a small
wound, and a needle flies out as AMETHYST controls her power to heal EMERALD and
SAPPHIRE.

AMETHYST
Can you explain what it was?

SAPPHIRE
(speechless) I…it was…

AMETHYST
(finish for her) A needle, a hidden weapon that you use to guarantee your success, which you
know clearly was forbidden.

RUBY
SAPPHIRE cheated?! How could you — You’re not first place anymore, I’m going to cancel
your —

AMETHYST raises her hand and stops RUBY’s furious words.

AMETHYST
(Upset) You’re talented. From your movements and contest between EMERALD, you will still
win if you choose not to use the needle but your endurance. But also, it doesn’t mean
EMERALD is weaker than you, she has an honest, courageous heart and strong self-confidence
that will take her further no matter where she goes or what path she takes. And you, (turn to
SAPPHIRE) outside help doesn’t make you strong, too much reliance on external forces will
only harm you. A dishonest and fluke mind would not take you anywhere. I hope you could
think more about what I said.

SAPPHIRE (V.O)
…Am I really wrong? If I don’t cheat, the first place, the place of being AMETHYST’s student,
will be mine?

SAPPHIRE turned her head and saw EMERALD looking at her worriedly.

SAPPHIRE
(turn away her head) …I understood.

Then SAPPHIRE was taken away by RUBY.

EMERALD
SAPPHIRE…

AMETHYST
Don’t worry, that girl won’t be destroyed so easily. You can go check on her later. Now, let’s
focus on something more important.

AMETHYST raised her hand and something fly in front of EMERALD’s hand, she take it
carefully.

AMETHYST
The token is proof that you were AMETHYST’s student, with this, you can do a lot of things that
you usually can’t do back then, for example, borrow and learn from the higher level books in the
library.

EMERALD was excited, she carefully observe it. It is an exquisite token carved from pure white,
flawless jade. It is engraved with the name of AMETHYST and the name of EMERALD, which
just appeared, surrounded by a crane with wings spread.

EMERALD remembers all the obstacles she has gone through, the difficult decision she had
taken to get here, she blinks her eyes trying not to let the tears come out.

EMERALD
(raised her head with a smile)
Thank you! Thank you, professor! This is the best affirmation of the hardship I’ve been through!
