Introduction
Footwear design development institute (FDDI) academics state that the purpose of our internship
was to put what we had learned in class into practice. I will outline the tasks I completed during
my internship in this paper. Ethio-Leather Industry Pvt. Ltd. Co., where my internship program
was held, accepted my application. The firm management gave me the assignment to research the
product distribution procedure, production capacity, number of shops visited and their locations,
customer handling, and sales strategies used by various organizations. I conducted research at three
separate shoe factories in accordance with their requests, and this paper details the findings.
Kangaroo Shoe is a well-known pure leather shoe factory. The company makes
all types of shoes like Kangaroo Men's Shoes, work out shoes, Boots, shoes
and many more are available. Kangaroo Shoe Factory Pvt. Ltd. Co. is one of
the leading and Sole Factory in Ethiopia, located in Addis Ababa. Now the factory has been
manufacturing sole for more than 25 years. Kangaroo Shoe Factory has 5,000 square meters of
land in eastern part of the Addis Ababa. With modern building and offices. The factory's future
plan is to enter into the international market in vast. To do so it works hard to improve it products
by giving training to the workers and by buying new & modern machineries. Therefore, the factory
is looking for international market to realize its vision. The average installed capacity of the factory
is 1000 pairs per shift. The factory produces mainly men's casual shoe including loafers and boots
lace-ups all in leather with soles PVC, TR & PU. Facilities Kangaroo Shoe Factory has 5000 square
meters of land in eastern part of the Addis Ababa
Their customer service is very attractive and they have a charming smile and a hamble approach.

5/ Kangaroo shoes regarding the methods of advertising /Promotion/ use?
RAMSAY FACTORY is a company located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The company is mainly
working in Shoes and Accessories business sectors. Ramsay Shoe Factory was established in 1993
with an initial capital of $200,000.00. Ramsay is mainly engaged in the production of men's shoes.
It has about 500 employees. Ramsay has a modern organizational structure and every role
undertaken by qualified professionals in their respective areas. Ramsay is estimated to have an
average annual turnover and asset value of USD3 million. Ramsay produces both men's and
women's shoe, with men's shoes accounting for more than 85% of output. The firm has a
production capacity of 2000 pairs per day.
Their customer service is very attractive and they have a charming smile and a humble approach.
Sars
Jemo No 1 From the beginning, the sales area is very attractive and convenient for
customers.
5/ Regarding Ramsey’s shoes advertising /Promotion/ usage methods?
1/ The type of shoes made of pure leather and comfortable boots for men
are 2,500ETB, while men’s gourd shoes have a sales level from
1,500ETB to 2,000ETB
2/ The type of shoes made of pure leather and comfortable women’s shoes have a sales
level of 600ETB, 1,000ETB to 2,000ETB and the similarly, Children’s shoes 450ETB to
1,150ETB.
Anbessa shoes
The company shall ensure the efficient and effective allocation and utilization of resources; by
upgrading the skills and competence of its employees, developing a new fashion brand, and
diversified products and expansion of projects through applying appropriate technologies, thereby
enhancing its export and market share and satisfying its stockholders. It shall ensure, raw materials,
and intermediate inputs are used in the production of the process and outsourced activities to satisfy
the environmental protection, OSH & quality requirements and shall work intensively with its
customers and suppliers. This policy shall be understood, communicated, and implemented at all
levels of the company, updated as required, and made available to business associates and the
public.
The have a very attractive, thoughtful smile and a humble approach to customer orders. Moreover,
they understand what kind of shoes they want and what kind of design they want, and they have
the ability to handle them well without getting tired.
3/ The daily sales of children’s shoes are based on 3 pairs of men’s shoes.
1. The type of shoes is made of pure leather, Male top price 1,950 ETB and Low price
1,100 ETB
2. The type of shoe is made of pure leather, Female top price 1,400 ETB and Low price 750
ETB.
3. The type of shoe for Children, the highest price is 850 ETB and the lowest price is 540
ETB
The prices of Anbessa shoes in pure leather product shops vary depending on the location,
for example, the sale price of lidta and Sars for men’s shoes is 1,950ETB. Sars is the highest
lidta price of 1,500ETB and children’s are 1,400ETB. There is no difference in the selling
price of children for men and women.
They have a certain % payment for the employee if the sales are more than the planned sales in
the month.
What is the employee’s job satisfaction? The lack of wages commensurate with the cost of living
did not make workers happy at work.

George shoe, from what I have seen and observed in leather products during my visit, the sales
center is organized in such a wat as to attract the attention of customers, starting from the
placement of shoes.
Conclusion
Through the internship, I was able to get knowledge of what is actually encountered in the real
world and learn how to apply my theoretical understanding to practical application. According to
my masters program research, I found some areas of the factory I visited to be strong and some to
be weak. Strengths include things like product quality, sales strategies, customer service, site
choice, etc. Their weaknesses include a failure to manage competitive advantages, a lack of
attractiveness, poor management, low employee happiness, etc. Our study offers a solid solution
to issues like these that arise in organizations. In general, the internship gives me the chance to
interact with the subject matter of my studies.
