This Quality Control Guide provides operational procedure of the DRYPIX Lite
Quality Control and Precautions thereof. Be sure to read the Quality Control Guide
prior to using this product. After reading the Quality Control Guide, please store it
in a safe place for handy reference. Please also read the “DRYPIX Lite Operation
Manual” which provides detailed information on the operation of the DRYPIX Lite
and the “FCR Quality Assurance Program Plus – For Medical Institutions – Image
Recorder Guidebook” (optional).

Introduction
This Quality Control Guide is applicable to the following software.
This Quality Control Guide describes the quality control (QC) functions of the Fuji Medical Dry
Imager DRYPIX Lite (DRYPIX 2000). The QC function can only be used if the QC function is
set to “Available” during installation. The QC is a function to implement the quality control of
the images printed by the DRYPIX Lite (DRYPIX 2000).
For the concepts behind the quality control, refer to the following guidebook.
“FCR Quality Assurance Program Plus – For Medical Institutions – Image Recorder
Guidebook” (sold separately, hereafter indicated as “The guidebook”)

Chapter 1 Overview 1
This chapter provides an overview of the quality control of the DRYPIX Lite’s images as
well as an overview of the QC functions to implement quality control.
Appendix
A worksheet is attached for a recording of the results of the QC functions. Copy
the worksheet to use it.

1 In order to maintain the quality of the images printed by the DRYPIX Lite, this device is subjected to an uniformity
test. With the DRYPIX Lite keep the following points in mind when implementing the QC function for the
uniformity test.
Overview
1. Use the DRYPIX Lite to print the “QC test patterns” used for quality control.
2. Print a QC test pattern and check that an error code is not displayed on the DRYPIX Lite display
panel.
The indicated measured result and the measured results besides those of the QC test pattern are recorded on
the worksheet.
The uniformity test is periodically implemented and its results are recorded each time.
Check the results measured by the uniformity test do not exceed the standard value.
Contact our official dealer should the measured results exceed the standard value. In this case, the worksheet
with a record of the results measured by the uniformity test is required.
Quality control can be implemented using other means than the uniformity test. In addition, the uniformity test
can be implemented without the use of the QC function, however the use of the uniformity test will make quality
control easier and more reliable.

Implementation of the QC Function
For the external densitometer, use a densitometer calibrated with the standard density step tablet that complies with
the expiration date. The use of a standard density step tablet manufactured based on a density step tablet (NIST :
National Institute of Standards and Technology (US)) is recommended. The recommended density step tablet and
densitometer are as follows.
■ Densitometer
Manufacturer: FUJIFILM Medical Co., Ltd.
Product name: 301RS
Use a general straight ruler enabling measurement down to the millimeter. The use of a transparent ruler with an easy
to check indication is recommended.
(3) Worksheet
Make a copy of the worksheet in the appendix of this Quality Control Guide to use it.

Printing the QC test pattern
Checking artifacts
Visually check the QC test pattern for irregularities
and disorderly patterns.
Record the visual check results in the worksheet.
you confirm the presence of artifacts.
The “Guidebook” provides details of the standard values (basic values) and the setting standard.
The table below shows the basic Utility menu operations available when the printer has switched to Utility mode.

You can display the next function and option.
Set button
You can confirm or execute the current option.
Menu button
If outputting a QC test pattern, the Utilities are terminated automatically, and the device returns to a status where
you can print.
CAUTION
Note that you will have to wait several minutes to 15 minutes to output a QC test pattern
depending on usage conditions.
