Section I: General Information
===================================================================================
Themis is released for Dell customers who encounter DVD-RAM media which is write-protected.
* Write-Protected
After inserting recorded DVD-RAM media into your DVD Writable Optical Drives, if you see below symptom
You may consider this DVD-RAM media is not able to re-write / erase any more
(1) On Windows Vista or Windows 7, in right-clicking on the Optical Drive Icon, there is no ‘erase’ function.
(2) Inactive “erase” functions on your record applications.
This program can make DVD-RAM media be write-permitted or write-protected.
By function which set or clear PWP (Persistent Write Protection) Bit of DVD-RAM media, you can control
unexpected problem which DVD-RAM media is forcedly inhibited to write/erase.
This program can be run on Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

Section II: How to use Themis
===================================================================================
1. Install Optical Disk Drive (ODD) and insert DVD-RAM media
2. Copy Themis_CE.exe to the any folder.
3. Go to the relevant folder and execute Themis_CE.exe.
4. Check [DRIVE INFO] and [DISC INFO] status.
(1) On [Drive INFO], You can see ODD manufacturer, product name and Firmware Version.
(2) On [DISK INFO], You can see Disc Type, Status, MID and Data Capacity recorded on DVD-RAM media.
5. If inserted DVD-RAM media, Disc status is displayed as 'OTHERS'
6. On the Top menu, when you click 'RAM PWP Control'. you can see 2 different message windows per DVD-
RAM media status.
(1) In case of write-protected media, the message is "This media is "Write Protected" status. Do you want to
CLEAR PWP bit?" and you can select "Yes" or "No"
1) If you click "Yes" in a few seconds, you can see the message windows, "Now, This media is "Write
Permitted Status". Finally, you can write or erase DVD-RAM media which is initially inhibited to.
2) If you click "No", you can see the message windows, "This media is "Write Protected" Status yet.
(2) In case of write-permitted media, the message is
"This media is "Write Permitted" status. Do you want to SET PWP bit?" and you can select "Yes" or "No".
1) If you click "Yes", in a few seconds, you can see the message windows, "Now, This media is "Write
Protected Status" Then, you can not write or erase DVD-RAM media anymore.
2) If you click "No", you can see the message windows, "This media is "Write Permitted" Status yet.

Section III: Others for More Information

1. Please make sure that this program is for only DVD-RAM media. If you insert another media type(CD-
R/RW, DVD+/-R, DVD+/RW, etc) and run 'RAM PWP Control', you will see "Please insert RAM Disc"
2. Log File is saved as on the folder which is at same location of Themis_CE.exe
