Establishment of Quality and Safe Health Care System Langley Mason Health

Overview of Safe Healthcare System

Optimized health care facilities are significant to the community for ensuring the efficient

provision of quality and safe medical services within a hospital. The proposals made by Marilyn

Chen are practical and directly solve the underlying problems facing the Langley Mason Health

center. Due to the increasing population within our societies, medical facilities tend to become

strained. The optimization of medical facilities and technology should get reviewed every year to

reduce mortality rates (Mayer et al. 3). The electronic health record is vital in handling the

increased patient data within a hospital. Langley Mason Health has experienced an increase in

patients. It would be suitable for the hospital management to expand the facilities’ potential to

cater to the increased need for health care. However, the hospital management should be keen on

which project to implement to ascertain patient safety and efficient healthcare delivery to

patients.

Electronic Health Records

Today, most hospitals use an information system to improve patient data safety and

facilitate efficient retrieval and mass data storage. Many hospitals in the United States have not

fully developed the information system for their data management. Various scholarly journals

have indicated that only 1.5% of U.S. hospitals have fully established the electronic record

system. 7.6% of the United States health care settings use traditional information systems to

manage patient data (Mayer et al. 3). Research shows that most of the hospitals which have

electronic health records systems are in urban areas. In most countries, including the United

States, the governments tend to initiate better projects in urban areas forgetting the rural areas

such as Nevada. The federal and state government should seek to increase medical funding in all

regions of the United States to ensure that vital medical facilities, including electronic health

records, smart IV pumps, automated pharmacy systems, and barcoding. The United States health

care systems need modern technology to facilitate fast and efficient delivery of all services

related to health care services provision. Marilyn’s idea of modernization and expansion of

Langley Mason Health should be upheld and financed to enhance health care delivery within the

region. Installation of these modern facilities like smart IV pumps and electronic health records

is expensive to install. Thus, both federal and state governments need to integrate their efforts for

the facilities to be developed.

Improving Healthcare Quality

Moreover, the private sector should improve poor health care in many marginalized areas

like Nevada State. Like Amazon, Robust companies showed the spirit and desire to help

marginalized communities through social amenities creation and better infrastructure

development. The state of health care in the United States needs the collaboration of all sectors

to rediscover affordable and quality health care providers for low-income earners. Low-income

earners experience difficulties in reaching out to big hospitals that offer quality health care due to

inadequate capital to finance the medical bills (Yuan 1). Most of the low-income citizens in the

United States don’t have health care insurances, which is essential for securing better medical

services. The government’s mandate is to ensure that citizens’ critical needs like health care are

correctly addressed. Besides the funding transforming the health care system Langley Mason

Health, the government should also develop health insurance initiatives that enable low-income

earners to afford quality health care. Subsidizing health care services is one of the main goals of

healthy people 2020 objectives in the United States.
