HEMP PERMIT: CONDITIONS FOR CLEANING/ CONDITIONING OF


HEMP PROPAGATING MATERIAL (LOW THC CANNABIS)

1. The permit holder is responsible for supervision and monitoring of the activities
conducted under this permit.

2. The permit holder for cleaning /conditioning of propagating material for


cultivation, must be in possession of a valid premises registration certificate.

3. The permit holder may only clean/condition propagating material of varieties of


which the THC is not exceeding 0.2% and must insist on receiving the following
documents from the sender:
a. transport declaration,
b. copy of Hemp Permit for cultivation permit from grower,
c. variety details of the consignment (variety denomination, amount of seed)
d. analytical report confirming THC of the plants from which the seed was
harvested

4. When returning the cleaned/conditioned seed to the requester, the permit holder
must ensure a copy of his/her valid Hemp Permit and the documentation received
from the requester, accompany each consignment with a new transport
declaration.

5. Detail records must be kept (logbook) of hemp seed consignments received for
cleaning/conditioning, including all inspections conducted. The records/logbook
must be available for inspection by the authorized inspector.

6. Authorised inspectors must be allowed access to conduct inspection of the
premises and facilities or any activity relating to hemp.

7. The permit holder must submit an annual report containing details of all seed
consignments received for cleaning/conditioning under his/her permit to the
Registrar by 30 June every year.

8. Non-compliance with any of the permit conditions may lead to actions taken
against the holder of the permit in terms of section 35 of the PIA
