Pamphlets and leaflets bearing the images of Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt began circulating in Patna shortly after
the news of the bombing broke. Professor Gyan Saha, a revolutionary who wished to pursue the militant path to
independence was responsible for these publications. Aside from this, posters bearing the slogans such as “Every nation
has a right to revolt against tyranny and oppression” were also posted across Patna on 17th August 1929, including on
government establishments such as the Post Offices. The veteran socialist leader M.N. Roy also toured Bihar in the wake of
the Assembly Bombing case, and delivered a series of forceful lectures illustrating to the people the manner in which
Indian wealth had been drained by the British imperialists.
The news of the hunger strike undertaken by Bhagat Singh and his comrades in the Lahore Jail also elicited considerable
sympathy from the people of Patna, and when Jatindra Nath Das’s body arrived in Bihar after his unfortunate demise,
massive processions were held in the city to demonstrate support for the nationalist cause.
