Kindergarten Research
the Education ministry has established kindergarten class size in public schools as
18 to 20 students per teacher. However, class sizes vary in the province’s private
schools, with some like St. George’s School in Montreal having maybe a dozen
students in kindergarten to the College Internationale Marie de France, where
there are usually about 30 students, with one full-time and one part-time teacher.
Reducing class sizes has long been championed as a way to improve outcomes
for students. Supporters – including many parents and teachers – argue that
smaller classes allow students to get more individual attention and result in better
grades, better test scores and fewer disciplinary issues
These schools have varying names for different levels of classes, beginning from –
Pre-Nursery, Nursery, KG, LKG (Lower Kindergarten), and UKG (Upper
Kindergarten).
The kindergarten design and psychology consideration are presented in the given
study analysis. These considerations are linked to research undertaken by
psychology, architecture design, education, environment, playing, social,
functionality, safety and efficiency as we see in figure 31. There are also various
kinds of strategies and development stages important to address the kindergarten
design and psychology outdoor play area, spaces, colors and educational
landscapes.
Color
The kindergarten education system need to provide kids to the significant level of
colors, textures, material, climate, space, smells, shapes, objects, sounds,
movement, people, change, interactions, time and sized. The sensory elements
also need to develop in the pre-school level of kids that reinforce the information
which allow them tosigns to their choice or way of comfortable form upon it.
Space
A diversity of space under the kindergarten education system from small to high
level, are important to build various sized groups of kinds engaged in altered
social activities. The spaces recommendation within the landscape or space with
sizedchild exhibits or furniture’s are need to attract the children.

Table Sizes
The width, depth or diameter of a table vary greatly, based upon the
number of children it is designed to comfortably seat at once. According to
Capital Area Woodworkers, the height depends on the age range of the
children. For toddlers up to 4 years old, the standard table height is 20 to
22 inches.
Chair Sizes
Chair height also varies based on the recommended age range of the
children who may use it. There is no standard for chair back height, but the
seat ranges from 10 to 12 inches off the ground for toddlers
Size Considerations
If purchasing children's furniture for more than one child to use, purchase
pieces for the age range of the oldest child or even a little older, since
children grow quickly. Otherwise, they may quickly outgrow the pieces, and
you may be faced with yet another furniture purchase.
5 Must-Have Facilities in Preschool For Better Learning Environment
1. Library
2. Creative area
3. Open space classroom
4. Outdoor playing area
5. Nature Corner
Library
Libraries for children are essential preschool facilities for information and
development. Either a library room or a small space that the children can use
independently to browse books. In preschool, the library should be a kid-friendly
place where children can go to read books, this facility helps to develop their
READING HABITS since young.
The library room or space should be an ORGANIZED and DEFINED SPACE for
children to sit and read.
There are some comfy elements you can add to the space such as lamps, curtains,
chairs, beanbags and etc. Design a comfortable area for reading, can make your
students more likely to spend time in the library.
The kid’s library plays an important role in creating a better quality of early
childhood learning experience that help improve children’s language and
vocabulary development.
Creative Area
There are so many ways for children to explore and be creative. The creative area
in a preschool classroom is a place where your little children can go creatively in
drawing, expressing and playing.
It doesn’t have to be a specific drawing area or learning area, but it’s a place for the
children to HAVE FUN and LEARN at the same time. It’s a place where they can
choose to do what they love, it helps develop their interest too!
Give the children plenty of time, materials and space for play. Children love to be
spontaneous in their creative activities. Prepare a creative area to show the
children that there are lots of activities they can do in one room.
For example, prepare the materials that can be homemade, recycled and natural
materials including colouring pencils, clay, leaves, newspaper to stimulate play and
imagination. So the children can choose to draw a person, do crafting by using
recycled materials, build a house by using clay and etc. This lets children know they
can develop their own ideas.
If you are a parent, you probably learned that your kids tend to pay more attention
to screen time than they do to outdoor play. The outdoor playing area is always on
the must-have facilities in the preschool list!
Outdoor play helps improve children’s physical development. When the preschool
provides the space for the children to run, bike and jump, these activities
strengthen their bodies and improve their body coordination.
Nature Corner
Nowadays, you can see there are some nature-based preschools that provide
nature-based early childhood education (NbECE). This type of education program
is where learning occurs in the context of NATURE.
This learning program is aimed to increase children’s connection with nature and
utilize its benefits for educational development. A nature corner helps foster
children’s curiosity, exploration, and patience.
