Rationale

The guidance management system is a desktop application system that helps the

guidance counselor with his or her tasks. This application includes a decision

support system for guidance counseling, encapsulates the processing of the

student’s information profiles, designation of students and teachers, generation of

student reports, and especially data management. The Counseling Office aims to

deliver good quality, providing quality service to students, prospective students, and

staff in an accessible and user-friendly manner. We focus on providing

comprehensive, student-centered services and ensuring that students have a

positive and effective student management and support experience. The Counseling

Management System is a newly developed system that automatically and accurately

calculates and recognizes student data transactions.

This study aimed to develop a performance-enhancing system for recording

and storing all student records in a more efficient automated system. This minimizes

the paperwork that student advisors typically do and makes their job easier,

especially when preparing reports on student records. The system helps guidance

counselors keep student profiles safe and secure. Guidance counselors can also

ensure that all information is recorded and updated. There is a quick and efficient

way for a student to get her SF10 and good morals. Counseling services, as an

integral part of education, focus on programs and services for students that may be

relevant to optimal lifelong achievement. Student records collected at the office are

used to enhance the counseling process and to know and understand people.

With a Generation SF10 and Good Moral Certification is an automated system

that will lessen manual process of storing information of the students of

Sangley of National High School. This project will provide effective and

efficient workflow in office. This system includes adding, retrieving, update

and viewing information of the students by searching their name in the

system.

Guidance Management System of Sangley Point National High School with

Generation of SF10 and Good Moral Certification Capabilities:

1. Easily add, update, retrieve and view information of the students

2. Can easily log in through the system

3. Easily view student information

4. Easily add and view violations of the students

5. Easily designate teacher and students per year

6. Input of grades of students

7. Can make back up files

8. Easily provide report cards such as form 137 and good moral

B. Implications and Beneficiaries

This automated system is design to assist School Guidance office in keeping

and updating student’s information. The contribution and relevance of the

study is it will provide an effective and efficient way in storing information of all

the students of Sangley Point National High School in a computer using the

automated system that the researcher will create, improvement of the

workflow inside the guidance office, lessen time consume, lessen budget for

resources used in the old way of storing information such as pens and paper

will be an advantage of the system.

1. Guidance Counselor: Since they are the one assigned in keeping and

storing of information of the students. The system will provide less hassle to

them and smooth workflow inside the office.

2. Current, old and new students: This allows students to easily update their

information and request document easily.

3. Teachers: Since they are the one who teaches they also the one who keep

information of the students per section. This will lessen time consume since

they can just update their student’s information.

4. School: Students' requests can be processed quickly, they can only easily

access the website there is no need to use paper and pen.

5. Future Researcher: The study can be a reference to them, especially IT

Students

Objectives of the Study

The objective of the application is to develop a system for Sangley Point National

High School

Specifically, it aims:

1. To design and develop the system which will be capable of:

A. Add, update, retrieve, and view student information.

2. To test the system using Unit Tests, Functional Tests, and Performance

Testing.

3. To evaluate the system using acceptable testing based on ISO 9126.
