(iii) Four days are taken by 18 men to paint a house. If 10 workers leave the job, how much long
would the remaining worker take to complete the paint?

(iv) Find the compound interest on Rs. 25,000/- for 5 years at 12% annually if compounded semi-
annually.
(v) Distribute an amount of Rs. 60,000/- among three partners Ashfaq, Ali and Zuhaib such that
the ratio between Ashafaq and Ali is 1 : 4 and the ratio between Ali and Zuhaib is 2 : 5 .

2. The rent of stay of 4 friends for 6 days in a hotel is Rs. 6000, how costly would be the stay of 8 friends for 3 days in the same
hotel?
AND
A soap factory makes 600 units in 9 days with the help of 20 machines. How many units can be made in 12 days with the
help of 18 machines.

4. Find the direction, vertex and roots of the parabola 𝑦 = −𝑥 2 − 2𝑥 + 8

5. Use Cramer’s rule to solve the following system of equations.

2x − 3y = 17
5x − 3y = 52

6. Find the total amount and the present value of an annuity if an amount of Rs. 5000/- is invested at the end of each year for 5
