1- After removing the glass carrier plate, remove all 12 screws retaining the actuators in
the mirror housing and disconnect the 3 pin connector to the wire harness.

NOTE: Be sure to review the parts list above and retain all necessary components to
assemble the new actuators.

as marked

2- After removing the old actuators from the housing, 2 of the mounting posts will need
to be removed with wire cutters flush to the housing surface prior to installing the
new actuators. See picture.

Clip the 2 marked

actuator posts until
the tooling change is
complete.

6- Put one screw (p/n 04 040 2201) in each 10 posts of both actuators, torque each
screw to 0.7 –1.2 Nm. (IC)

7- After the actuators are screwed in place and secure, the direct plug actuator wires will
be inserted as follows:

When connecting the Direct Connect Plug to the actuator, the correct installation will look
like the picture below:

LH – YELLOW 1, BROWN 2
RH – BROWN 1, YELLOW 2

LEFT/RIGHT MOVEMENT
LH – YELLOW 1, ORANGE 2
RH – ORANGE 1, YELLOW 2

After plugging the actuators, be sure to bench test the connections prior to finish
assembling the mirror system and mounting to the truck. This will save time later if
something is connected incorrectly.

8- After bench testing the new actuators, secure the excess wires with the tie wrap and
cut off the excess tie wrap.

9- Re-connect the heater circuit and AAT sensor before assembling the glass carrier plate
to the mirror system.
