Downtown Central Business District Market Square Options

Options were contained in the Downtown Central Business District Community Improvement Plan and Urban Design Strategy for this area and council would like further input from the public as to the changes and amenities, if any, they would like to see. The concepts depicted below are what have been illustrated in the CIP: KING GEORGE PARK

The CIP outlines the following suggested changes to King George Memorial Park; PLEASE SELECT THE CHANGES YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE. **NOTE: If you are satisfied with the above sketch and overall direction as a whole for King George Park, please select the box associated with Entire Plan. If you are satisfied with the existing condition of the King George Park please select Maintain the Existing Situation. If you only like portions of the concept, please select the components you would like to see. If you would like to see something that is not listed, there will be space provided to provide additional comments and ideas. King George Park Concepts: Entire Plan (as depicted above and all options described below) Maintain the Existing Situation King George Memorial Park Individual Options (please select all that you would like to see) Retain and redesign the existing commemoration function. Include a permanent stage structure that can accommodate seasonal events (Canal Days). Incorporate ample seating opportunities, both formal and informal. Include tree and foundation plantings to provide visual interest and colour along the edges of the space. Incorporate features similar to the gateway features along the edges of space, including pedestrian lighting and banner materials. Incorporate public art and a community event board or kiosk.
