PROJECT

For B. Com. (Hons) Sem VI students

Project is for 100 marks divided into 2 parts: 50 marks for project/ report
writing and 50 marks viva-voce.

Select a particular topic on which you want to write the project. For eg. working
capital management, ratio analysis, NPA of banks, online banking, CSR,
sustainability reporting etc. But instead of selecting the topic in general select
the topic and relate it to a particular company’s annual report for 5 years or
select 3 companies and one particular year, for eg. 2019. Only then a better
comparative analysis can be made.

Acknowledgement- For carrying out the project, you might have received help
from teachers, friends, parents, library etc. So mention their names in the
acknowledgement.

Abstract- Gives an overview or mentions in brief about the project. It is


summary of the project report.

Contents- It is a catalogue of the project report.

List of Tables & List of Figures- The tables and figures in the project must be
numbered for eg. Table 1…..Figure 1…..

Text- It is the most vital part of the project.

Bibliography- It is the list of books, journals etc. used in the project.


Text of the Project comprises of the following: The text of the report should
be divided into different chapters depending on the type of research. In case of
survey based research, the different chapters are as follows-

3. Literature Review
4. Objectives of the Study
5. Research Methodology
6. Limitations of the Study
7. Chapter Planning
• Conceptual Framework
• Presentation of Data, Analysis & Findings
• Conclusion & Recommendations

Introduction- The chapter on introduction should begin with the background of


the project topic.

Literature Review- It is necessary to study the works done on the same topic in
the past and their results.

Objectives of the Study- Can mention 2 or 3 objectives of the study.

Research Methodology- State the research/ project design and data collection
procedure. It might include-

1. Design of Questionnaire (in case of primary data)


2. Determination of sample size

Primary Data- is the data which is collected for the first time by direct
observation method, face to face communication, mail survey, personal
interview etc.

Secondary Data- is the data which is obtained from existing records,


publications, books, journals, annual reports etc.

Conceptual Framework- is like a recipe or blueprint. It provides an outline of


how to conduct the research.
Data Analysis- The collected data should be analysed by various statistical
tools and techniques such as mean, median, standard deviation, correlation and
regression analysis etc.

Conclusion- It includes interpreting the results. The project would be


considered fruitful if it creates an impact on the society.

Bibliography/ References- The project work is based on a set of literatures


from books, journals, annual reports, websites etc. Bibliography is an
alphabetical catalogue of different books, journals etc. used in the project.

If you are working with primary data, you might prepare a questionnaire as the
sample questionnaire given below. The questionnaire has to be circulated
among friends, relatives etc. for data collection.
