support structure etc. to allow for thermal expansion and contraction of the
enclosures, their couplings and jointings, busbars, contacts, connections and
other parts of the components contained within enclosure both under normal
and short-circuit conditions and suitable measures shall be employed, such as
using expansion joints and flexible connections to prevent misalignment,
deformation or malfunction of the parts due to thermal (temperature cycling)
or other effects including manufacturing and mounting in-accuracies and
movement of foundations. Adjustable stainless steel bellows may be used,
where necessary, to absorb possible movements and deflections.

6.1.8 Noise

The switchgear and its associated apparatus shall be of such design and
arranged in a manner that would produce minimum noise during service and
on an operation of the switchgear. The maximum value of noise level shall be
indicated by the manufacturer and will be subject to approval of NTDC.
