REFLECTION: GLOBAL TOURISM

After watching the video, I learned a lot. Tourism has a long history that
dates back to ancient times. The video indicates that there was no precise date of
when tourism started. People travelling and taking vacations have been
documented by historians to some extent. Ancient societies and nations moved
their armies around to conquer new lands, among other things, that laid the
groundwork for travel. The purpose of travel is to extend our horizons, explore
the world, try new things, etc. Around the world, it was occurring in various
cultures, religions, and nations. The Egyptians and the Greeks were major
players in travel and tourism at the beginning of the empire era. There are
several reasons why they travel, for Education, business etc. Since travel was
necessary, amenities like housing, inns, and other necessities for travel were also
developed. Locals decided that they would take advantage of this chance.
(Started opening of stores, eateries, etc.) The new resources that are being
discovered have led to changes in tourism over time. For instance, the
availability of modern transportation options and technological advancements
facilitate travel, and we also have access to equipment for the construction of
infrastructure, buildings, and other tourist attractions that boost the local
economy. The positive aspects of tourism are those I just mentioned, but one of
its negative aspects is nature. Nature, natural causes, and natural calamities are
outside of our control. For instance, the pandemic that occurred in 2020 resulted
in travel bans for an extended period of time, which caused tourism to plummet.
The good news is that they are now steadily recovering That is my insight in
regards to the video.
