Q. Why have you chosen Birmingham City University?


Ans: I have chosen to study at Birmingham City University because:
 BCU’s KEF (Knowledge Exchange Framework) performance has been
ranked against 7 areas of knowledge exchange activity, including our
research partnerships; work with business, skills enterprise and
entrepreneurship and IP and commercialization.
 Birmingham City University has the latest IT facilities. I'll use the fastest
computers and latest software at BCU. Choose between hundreds of PCs
and Macs, and use my own devices with free, open and reliable Wi-Fi
across the campus.
 At BCU teaching staff are recognized around the world for their
excellent industry connections and research impact.
 BCU library is Open 24/7 for independent study or working in group
rooms

 At BCU I have access to one to one and group sessions for personal
learning and academic support from library and IT teams, and network
of learning experts. 
 BCU is based in the UK’s second largest city, which is home to 65,000
students and Europe's youngest city population, so I will also get
location priority.

 At BCU, on graduating I will receive an industry recognised professional


qualification from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Ques: Why do you want to study this course in the UK and not in your
home country?
Ans: I choose UK because:

 UK universities are world renowned and its education is recognized


globally.
 UK courses are of shorter duration
 UK teaching system is advanced & practical.
 In UK course syllabus is updated every year.
 UK is multicultural country and immensely popular among international
students.

Why not in your home country (India)?

 In India degrees are valued within the country only.


 Indian courses are of longer duration
 Indian teaching system is outdated and theory based.
 In India most seats are reserved for quota holders.
 Curriculum in India did not give sufficient scope for creative thinking.
 In India student has to pass the entrance exam to get admission in most
of professional courses.

Q. Have you travelled to UK before?


Ans. No, I never travel to UK.

Q. Have you ever been refused a visa for any country including the UK?

Ans. No, I never refused from any country.

Q. Who is sponsoring you and what is their annual income?


Ans. My parents will be sponsoring me for my studies. My father is a farmer
and his annual income is 13500 GBP and my mother runs a boutique and her
annual income is 11500 GBP.
Q. Is any dependent applying along with you, if so what are they doing?
Ans. Yes, my spouse is applying with me. He is a ------- and his annual income
is =------ GBP.
Q. Where is the campus you will study at?
Ans. My University campus is City Centre campus and it is located at
University House, 15 Bartholomew Row,Birmingham, B5 5JU, UK.
Q. How will you be assessed?
Ans. I will be assessed through exams and my Management and International
Business Project, as well as other pieces of individual and group coursework.
Q. Which Other Countries have you researched Besides U.K?

Ans.After a lot of research about countries like Canada & Australia.I found
that in Canada:
-There are less degree courses in most of the Universities/Colleges & only
diploma courses are available in there,
-- In summer vacations, there is limited travel in Canada but in UK I can travel
more in Europe.
- The weather is very bad and cold throughout the year

In Australia, I found that:


- There are less degree course options in Australia.
- Master degree is of 2 years duration.
- The tuition fee is very costly in Australia

Q. Can you please confirm the level of your study?


Ans.My level of study is 7.
Q. What will be your cost of living expenses in the UK?
Ans. My cost of living expenses in the UK will be 1300 to 1400 pounds per
month which will include my food, accommodation, transportation, books &
stationary, mobile, laundry and other miscellaneous expenses.

Ques . Why have you chosen to study MSc Management and


International Business ?

Ans. I have chosen to study MSc Management and International Business


because:
 It will teach me the fundamental skills and attributes needed to
become a successful international manager.
 I’ll become adept at strategic and tactical business decisions,
understanding international cultural differences, and managing and
motivating staff in businesses on an international scale.
 This course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute
(CMI).

Ques. What modules will you study in this program?


Ans. I’ll study the following modules:
 Managerial Finance
 The Integrated Business
 Leadership Development
 International Strategic Management
 International Operations Strategy and Innovations
 Cross Cultural Management
Managerial Finance: This module aims to develop your understanding of
the main financial objective of the firm i.e. wealth maximisation and how
it is achieved through alignment of financial decisions under constraints
from within and outside the organisation. 

The Integrated Business: The aim of this module is to provide with the
key knowledge and understanding of the integrated nature of business
functions focusing specifically on marketing and operations. It will give
me both a foundation in what business is and how it operates using
these two key functional perspectives whilst also highlighting leadership
and financial implications of managerial decision making in these areas
to provide an integrated and holistic view of business in a variety of
contexts.

Leadership Development: This module will provide me with an


opportunity to engage and consider contemporary issues in leadership
from both UK and international perspectives and how leaders address
these within organisations. The module will enable me to develop a
critical insight and outlook in order to explore relevant solutions for
organisational effectiveness and success.

International Strategic Management: Strategy is a field that breaks


you out of a functional perspective and integrates the functional Stage 1
themes of finance, marketing, leadership and operations to offer a
holistic view of an organisation, be that a small or medium sized
business or a large corporation in an international context. The focus of
this course is on the business unit level or competitive strategy, not
corporate level strategy.

International Operations Strategy and Innovations: The aim of this module


is to explore the diverse range of activities that comprise the area of
International Operations Management, innovation, new product or
service development and the need for leadership when introducing
change initiatives. Specifically, the module is designed to enable
students to appreciate the truly international nature of the modern firm
and how many processes are now undertaken across national borders.
Cross Cultural Management : This module examines the task of
management in today's international and global business environment in
general. Specifically, it develops my skills to be able to critically examine
the key tasks of management and the theories that underpin them, to
advance my understanding and skills in international business area.

Q. Is this same course available in other universities in UK?


Ans. Yes, this course is available in other universities in UK like De Montfort
University, University of East London, University of Portsmouth etc.

Q. Why haven’t you choosen one of these universities?


Ans. I did a research and comparison with other Universities like University
of Essex ( UK) and University of East London ( UK). But in terms of quality
Education and facilities I found Birmingham City University is better than
them.

 In case of University of East London, the living expenses in London are


more as compared to Birmingham.
 Some of the modules are not available in these universities. (Like In
University of Essex MSc in Management is available , it does not cover
international Business modules.) Moreover, University of Essex’s course
fee is 20350 GBP as comapred to BCU which is 16300 GBP.
 Birmingham City Universityprovides best location priority
 Besides this, as per my known sources Birmingham University provides
quality education, equipped classrooms, advanced study plans as well as
highly qualified tutors.
Q. When did you complete your last qualification?
Ans. I have completed my BA in 2018 from IEC University, Himachal
Pradesh.
Q. What have you been doing since your last qualification?
Ans. After completing my BA in 2018, I started working at AD Immigration
Consultancy as Office Executive from 4 September 2018 and I am still
working there.
Job duties of Office Executive:

 Analyzing and making meaning of market research to help upper


management make informed decisions
 Managing and inspiring employees by leading from the front and setting the
right example
 Interacting with office visitors to make them feel welcomed
 Using Microsoft office knowledge to help upper management navigate
Microsoft products
 Staying organized by using CRM to keep track of all correspondence
 Handling employee complaints and discipline issues through the use of
interpersonal communication skills.

Q. What is your salary package? What is the mode of your salary?


Ans. I am getting Rs. 10000 per month and the mode of my salary is in cash.

Q. What will be your future career prospects after the course?

Ans. After completing MSc Management and International Business I will


come back to my home country as International degree has a great scope in
India. MSc Management and International Business career can start off with
Business Development Manager, International Supply Chain Manager, Financial
Analyst, International Business Marketing manager and so on in top companies of
India. But I will like to join as an Executive in International Business in the
companies like Signicent Information Solutions LLP and Cargo partner.
Signicent Information Solutions LLP (IND & USA) is a well established firm with
80+experts that assist businesses globally in their technology innovation, patents,
trademarks, valuation, licensing, tech-transfer and market research needs. Its office
is located at SAS Nagar, Mohali.

Cargo-partner is a dynamically growing, midsized specialist for transportation and


integrated logistics with particular strength in oversea's solutions. Its office is
located at Chandigarh

Job Duties of Executive in International Business:

 Monitor effective implementation of international business development


activities
 Develop individual business plans for each country
 Administer and develop initiatives to increase sales and market development
activities
 Assist business to identify opportunities and develop strategic plans to
enhance same.
 Design plans to achieve all objectives and develop plans for new business
 Train and provide guidance to staff members and business development
issues
 Analyze business and review future prospective for same
 Manage all customer communication and maintain effective relationship with
all.

Ans. My total course fee is 16300 GBP.

Q. How did you find out about this university?


Ans. I have found about this University from internet and moreover I found
my preferred course in this university.

Q. If you are employed, has leave been granted or will you be leaving
employment?
Ans. I will leave my employment.
Q.Have you ever travelled outside of your own country?
Ans. No, I never travelled outside of my own country.

Q.Will you take advantage of exploring the UK when you are here?
Ans. Yes definitely I will explore UK when I go there.

might visit when you are here?
Ans. I will visit places like

Q. Why are you choosing to return to higher education now?
Ans. The education I have acquired till now is not sufficient to grow further. I
feel to get more enhanced and specialized knowledge and information to
develop and grow in my field.
Q. How will you be funding your tuition fee and living expenses in the
UK?
Ans. I have sufficient funds to cover my tuition fee and living expenses in UK. I
have savings approximately Rs. 20 lacs in my Axis Bank account.
Q. Have you made arrangements for your accommodation through the
University?
Ans.No, I have made my own arrangements.

Q. If no? How will you find accommodation and how much do you expect
it to cost?
Ans.I will be staying at 10 Moland Street, Birmingham, B4 7AU UK. It is 10
mins walking distance from my University campus.

Ans. I will travel to the University by walking.

Ans. No I don’t have relatives or friends in the UK

Q. How many hours are you allowed to work per week in the UK as a full
time international student?
Ans. I am allowed to work 20 hours per week in the UK.

Ans. The nearest airport from my university is Birmingham airport.
