INCLASS TASK 1 (Controlled Essay)

Directions: On the blank before each number. Write AGREE, if you agree with the
statement and DISAGREE if otherwise. Defend your answer in five sentences. Each
item is worth 10 points.

AGREE 1. Transcreation demands a deep understanding of both grammar and culture.

I agree that transcreation demands a deep understanding of both grammar and
culture. Since grammar plays a crucial role in transcreation as it governs the structure
and rules of a language. It helps transcreators to ensure that the translated content is
grammatically correct and coherent in the target language, while still capturing the
essence of the original text. Without a solid understanding of grammar, it would be
challenging to produce high-quality transcreated content. Additionally, based on the file
that I already read culture is equally important in transcreation because it shapes the
way people think, communicate, and perceive the world. Transcreators need to be
aware of cultural nuances, idioms, and references that may exist in the source language
and find appropriate equivalents or adaptations in the target language. This cultural
knowledge allows transcreators to effectively connect with the target audience, ensuring
that the transcreated content resonates with them and achieves the desired impact.

AGREE 2. Transcreation in art is important.

I agree about this transcreation in art can indeed be important and valuable for
several reasons. Transcreation refers to the creative adaptation transcreation enables
art to cross linguistic and cultural barriers, allowing it to be appreciated and understood
by a broader audience. By adapting artworks, such as literature, films, or visual arts, to
different languages or cultural few reasons why transcreation is significant in art
because of cultural accessibility where Transcreation enables art to cross linguistic and
cultural barriers, allowing it to be appreciated and understood by a broader audience.
And also preserving Intention and Essence where transcreation strives to capture the
essence and intention of the original work, ensuring that the emotional impact and
artistic integrity are retained. Overall, transcreation in art is important as it enhances
cultural accessibility, preserves artistic intent, encourages artistic dialogue, promotes
cultural exchange, and can have commercial benefits. By bridging gaps between
languages and cultures, transcreation contributes to a more inclusive and
interconnected artistic landscape.
AGREE 3. A well-transcreated message will evoke exactly the same emotions and will
project the same implications in both the target language and the source language.
I agree with this statement it is true. Since, transcreation describes the process of
adapting a message from one language to another while maintaining its intent, style,
tone, and context. A successfully transcreated message evokes the same emotions and
carries the same implications in the target language as it does in the source language.
It's connected to the idea of localization, which also entails completely adapting a
translated text for the intended audience. The creative role of the translator is
highlighted by transcreation. Unlike many other forms of translation, transcreation also
often involves adapting not only words but video and images to the target audience.
That’s why the purpose of Transcreation is to make content emotionally and culturally
relevant for the consumer and not just translate the text

AGREE 4. The goal of transcreation is multilingual content with the same emotional
impact as the source content.
Since the transcreation is the same emotions and the same implications in both
the target language and source language. In order to connect with your multilingual
audience in a meaningful way, you can communicate with them through transcreation.
Because using normal translation from one language to another is not always enough to
convey the complete message you want to be delivered to your target audience. Like
nowadays, transcreation has progressed extensively. It’s now a fundamental part of
capturing consumers’ attention in international markets. Many large companies, such as
Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and Amazon have transcreated their websites to capture the
audience from all around the world. International mass communication has been very
lucrative through transcreation. Many organizations around the world are endeavoring
to target each country individually using transcreation.
