FINAL REPORT
TITRATING OXIDATION- REDUCTION
Determining that the concentration K2Cr2O7 by Fe2+ with the
Ferroin indicator.
1.Principle.
- Use the Ferroin indicator to realize the end point of titration. The
process ends when the indicator changes from indigo- blue to red
- Equation:
6Fe2+ + Cr2O72- + 14H+ → 6Fe3+ + 2Cr3+ + 7H2O
2.Results and calculations.
-Results.

UN K2Cr2O7 = t0.95,f x uN(K2Cr2O7) = 4.3 x + 0.00006093= + 0.0002699 N
Results: μN K2Cr2O7 = 0.02972 + 0.0002699 N

3.Received
 The normal error easily due to its Ferroin indicator contains Fe2 +,
which increases the amount of Fe2 + in the solution.
 Since Fe2 + loaded into the burette can be oxidized in the air to
Fe3 +, this leads to interference with the titration, leading to errors.
 When titration does not require vigorous shaking, no change in
color of the solution will be observed because the reddish-brown
color is also difficult to detect. When you see the solution is almost
as desired, you should switch from Fe2 + solution (less than 1
drop) until the contact between the solution of Fe2 + and K2Cr2O7
has no difference in color.
