2 Read about two different places. Complete the texts with these words.

I’d love to see Hong Kong. It looks amazing in photographs, all those (0) skyscrapers . There are lots of clubs and
restaurants so I expect the (1) is fantastic but I would go there for the shopping. There are huge

A few years ago I went to Alice Springs. It’s a very small town right in the middle of Australia. The people were

5 Work in pairs. Take turns to be the speaker and the listener. The listener can keep a score of points.
Speaker: Tell your partner about one of your three places.
Listener: Listen and try to decide which topic your partner is talking about. If you can’t guess, you can ask three
questions to find out more information.
How to score points:
10 points if you guess your partner’s topic without asking any questions.
5 points if you guess the topic after asking questions.
No points if you can’t guess the topic!
