Name of The Experiment:

Verification of Kirchhoff's Voltage Law

Objective:
The main objective of the experiment is to verify that the algebraic sum of the voltages in a
loop must equal zero.

Theory:
Kirchhoff's voltage law often shortened to KVL states that "The algebraic sum of all voltage in
a loop must equal zero."

List of Components:
• Variable DC power supply
• Resistors
• Breadboard
• Jumper wires
• Voltmeter
• Calculator

Circuit Diagram:
Here is the circuit diagram of Kirchhoff's voltage law verification experiment:

Steps:
1. Implement the circuit on the breadboard as shown in the diagram
2. Set the variable DC supply
3. Take the reading of each voltmeter for every change
4. Take note for different voltage

Data Table:

SL No E1-2 E2-3 E3-4 E1-4 E1-2+E2-3+E3-4+E1-4

1 0V -0V -0V -0V 0V

2 5V -1.0V -1.60V -2.30V 0.1V

3 10V -2.10V -3.30V -4.70V -0.1V

4 15V -3.20V -4.80V -7.0V 0V

5 20V -4.20V -6.30V -9.30V 0.2V

6 25V -5.30V -7.50V -11.60V 0.2V

Result:
From the data table, we can see that the algebraic sum of all the voltages in that loop is zero
or approximately zero.

Conclusion:
From the experiment, we can see that the algebraic sum of all voltages in a loop is equal to
zero or approximately zero. This proves that the main theory of Kirchhoff's voltage law (KVL) is
true. From the experiment, we can say that Kirchhoff's voltage law is verified.
