Executive Summary

Person-centred therapy is a type of non-directive therapy that is

empathetically driven toward providing a person with a safe space to talk
and self-actualize positive changes in their life.

There are also many ethical dilemmas when working as a Residential Care
Worker when working with vulnerable children or young people.

The range of ethical dilemmas you can come across is wide and includes:

Confidentiality: Where the Residential Care Worker’s obligation to protect

the young person or child’s confidentiality conflicts with an obligation to
report crime, or actions the young person takes that may cause harm to
themself or others.

Self-determination: here the social worker's obligation to respect a client's

right to self-determination conflicts with the realization that the client is
committing or threatens to commit actions that will harm himself or others.

I will explain Equality legislation's main purpose is to prohibit discrimination,

harassment, and victimisation in the workplace. The main statute which
governs the meaning of equality and what harassment and discrimination
means is the Equality Act 2010.  Even though the legislation explains what
discrimination is, and what forms harassment and discrimination can take, it
is up to the employer to implement best practices and take all reasonable
steps to prevent any such acts from taking place.
