Use of Neighborhood Electric Vehicles

The issue of golf carts and Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs) is often brought up and wed like to clarify the rules for using these vehicles in the community. NEVs are compact, low-speed vehicles powered by rechargeable batteries and electric motors. NEVs have maximum speeds of around 25 mph, and typically carry one to four passengers. NEVs may not operate at a speed faster than 25 miles per hour and may only be used on roads that have a posted speed limit of less than 35 mph. NEVs must display a notice of the operational restrictions on the vehicle in a location that is in clear view of the driver. Regarding the use of these vehicles in the Anthem at Merrill Ranch community; a golf cart or NEV must be driven on the far right side of the street. The vehicle must be registered, drivers must have liability insurance and have a valid drivers license. NEVs are not to be driven on sidewalks. The Public Report states that all trails will be available for pedestrian use and non-motorized vehicle activities. This includes the trail in the 404 wash. Maintenance vehicles such as those used by HOA maintenance personnel and landscape workers are considered farm equipment. These vehicles do not fall under the same guidelines as the NEVs or golf carts. These vehicles may be driven in areas in order to reach the area where work is needed, including sidewalks. With half day and full day options available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, your child is sure to enjoy this camp, right here in your community! Each week has a theme, including story time, crafts, physical activities, games and puzzles, reading books, movie time, water days, rockwall climbing and much more! A snack and a drink are provided at each session (morning and afternoon). If your child is participating in the full day camp, you must send a sack lunch with them.
