TOOLS OF DISCIPLESHIP

The immediate aim of these lessons is to establish believers in the foundational doctrines of faith and
achieve a few practical goals upon which they will continue to build for the rest of their lives. Biblical values
were used as a guide in developing the content and structure of the lessons.

This is just a tool of discipleship.

2 Timothy 2:2
“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to
faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”

1. FOCUS ON MAKING DOCTRINE THE PRIORITY

"And the things..." - 2 Tim2:2

a. The RELATIONSHIP between the disciple and the disciple maker will determine whether the
disciplship will take place or not.
b. The ULTIMATE GOAL of discipleship is to equip faithful believers with sound biblical doctrine.
Titus 1:3
3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed
unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

2 Timothy 1:13-14s
13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and
love which is in Christ Jesus. 14 That good thing which was committed unto thee
keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

Notes:
Don’t assume that your disciple is already saved. Unless you asked them.

John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth; thy word is truth.

Hebrews 13:9
9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that
the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them
that have been occupied therein.
Your goal is to consume God’s word and chew it up.
Acts 20:32
32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is
able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are
sanctified.
