Festival dance

A cultural dance performed to


the strong beats of percussion
instruments by a community of
people sharing the same culture
usually done in honor of a
Patron Saint or in thanksgiving
of a bountiful harvest
The following festivals are celebrated in honor
of Sto. Niño:
• Ati-atihan
• Dinagyang festival
• Sinulog festival
The gathering and
battle of all
festivals within the
country.
ALIWAN FIESTA
The following is a source of energy which
we need in order to perform our daily
routine.
• Bread
• Vegetables
• Cereals
Festival dancing contribute to one’s
fitness and well-being because it is a
good form of exercise.
The Total Energy Requirement (TER) of a
student with a weight of 50kg performing
a moderate festival dancing activity is
2000 cal.
Festival dancing is a
physical activity that can
burn calories, depending
on the intensity of the
dancing. The more
intense the dancing, the
more calories burned. By
regularly engaging in
festival dancing, one can
maintain or reduce their
weight by burning excess
calories stored in the
body.
Benefit from festival dancing activity:
• They help one achieve a personally active lifestyle.
• They contribute to the enhancement of community
awareness.
• They develop one’s awareness of his own & other’s
culture through festivals.
Lung cancer is
primarily caused by
smoking or
exposure to
secondhand smoke,
radon, asbestos,
and other
environmental
factors. It is not
directly related to
having a sedentary
lifestyle.
If an individual
could hardly
catch his breath
off while
performing
festival dances,
the intensity of
his activity is
HEAVY.
LEVEL - It may be low,
when knees are fully or
slightly bent when
executing movement.
STEP - series of
steps executed by
both of your feet
alternately in any
direction.
The act of
decreasing the
angle of a joint is
called FLEXION.
