ACTIVITY
Environmental Policy Formulation
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Research about the environmental policy of a selected local/global organization. DO NOT pick firms
cited in the handouts/class discussion/case studies.
Also, your selected firm for the collective task performance should not be used for this activity.
Coordinate with your classmates to ensure that duplication of companies will be avoided.
Critically review the environmental policy of your chosen firm. Then, decide and justify if the policy
addresses the applicable key organizational areas and reflects the foundations and components of an
effective environmental policy.
In case the environmental policy failed to meet the criterion above, formulate a new environmental
policy using applicable objectives (i.e., energy, purchasing and supply, waste, transport, etc.).
In case the policy reflects or exceeds the given criterion, design an updated environmental policy
(citing opportunities for improvement in other business areas) for your chosen organization.
Note that the printed environmental policy must be submitted along with this activity sheet (for
online modality, submit a soft copy of the document via eLMS dropbox). Refer to Pages 3-4 of the
handout for the example of an environmental policy.

A. Policy Review (20 points)

• Coca's environmental strategy shows how the company affects and affects the world.
Since the company is based on a farming product, they have the guts to put environmental
policy first. They also make sure that growth keeps going by making their business tools,
like the drinks, more eco-friendly. As well as how much energy and water their shops save
while running the business and making the product, this is something they think about.
Even shops that say they are "green" use materials that are made to be efficient and light
on the environment. The policy covers some of the company's most important business
areas. For example, when it comes to Attitude, the company's policy says in their
environmental goal statement that they want everyone to work on projects that help the
climate. When it comes to Accuracy, the environmental policy of the company has been
met and continues to help the climate. When it comes to, they also know how important it
is to pay attention to projects that help keep things neat and make the world better. Action
is being done, rules for environmental management are being put into place, and the
business's projects are still being worked on. The paper shows the parts that go into
making a good environmental policy. The paper shows the parts that go into making an
effective environmental policy. It can help you figure out if a company is following its
environmental policies. It also shows that a company is working to make the world better.
It also makes sure that the company knows enough about how its business affects the
environment. The goal of the Coca-Cola Company is to make the world feel better and to
make a change. Coca-Cola wants to make a difference in our communities and in our
company by using our past of improving human and civil rights and by gathering the
power of our workers, families, and friends. Our company needs to be noticeable and take
the lead in making the important changes.

B. Environmental Policy Formulation (30 points)
Business Description:
• The Coca-Cola Company is the biggest company in the world that makes,
sells, and distributes liquids and syrups for nonalcoholic drinks. Since 1886,
finished beverage products with our brands have been sold in the United
States. These products are now sold in more than 200 countries, and in most
of these countries, they are the most popular soft drinks. Our business is
selling non-alcoholic drinks, mostly fizzy soft drinks but also a range of
other drinks. We make beverage extracts, syrups, and some finished drinks,
which we sell to bottlers and canners, distributors, fountain suppliers, and
some fountain stores. We also make, sell, and transport juices, juice drinks,
and some types of water. We also have shares in a number of businesses that
bottle and can things.

Policy Aims:
• Objectives
• Goals
• Vision, Mission

They are a big part of how companies make decisions because they help set the groundwork.

• Mission statements can be used to talk about goals. Strategies and tactics are both plans or
schemes, but strategies are long-term plans with big effects, while tactics are short-term plans
that may not be as important as strategies.
• The main goals of the Coca-Cola Company are to be known around the world as a business that
acts responsibly and socially and to speed up sustainable growth to be able to work in the world
of tomorrow.
• By having these goals, businesses have a solid base from which to make decisions. In its goal
statement, the company says it wants to: "refresh the world," "inspire moments of optimism
and happiness," and "make people feel good." Make things better and add value to the place we
all live.
