School-Based Journalism Narrative Report

SJNHS staff writers both in English and Filipino, we invited student writers
interested or with experience in campus journalism to join the organization. They
went through screening by writing articles as their challenge. The students who won in
journalistic writing would be automatically qualified for the later Division Press Conference. The
contests, both in English and Filipino held at SBM Function Hall of Sta. Josefa National High
School. Fortunately, winning slots in their respective categories. For The Bridge - English
Edition headed by Odessa S. Romero together with her subordinates Omega Joy E. Galvez. For
the Lagusan-Filipino Edition headed by Irene B. Enzo with her subordinates Maria Princess P.
Lumanta, Daniel T. Paman and Ryan G. Espańola with the support of the school principal
(Eduardo J. Julve).
The opening event started that day (December 05, 2022), where the opening remarks was
given to us by our school principal Eduardo J. Julve followed by the statement of Purpose of
Irene B. Enzo. Orientation proper to the expected delegates by Odessa S. Romero and with her
word of wisdom to through the intensive training will happen for the qualifier students for
DSPC. The lecture and contest were started on December 06, 2022 as shown the matrix below.

In five day- trainings of almost three years of pandemic, in the realization of the DEPED’s
Mission and Vission of empowering every learner with necessary skills particularly to promote the
development and growth of the campus journalism as a way to strengthen ethical values, encourage
critical and creative thinking and to develop moral character and personal discipline of the Filipino
youth. The Sta. Josefa National High School was successfully done their School-Based Journalism and
who got the first place will represent in the upcoming DSPC.
