electric mobile metal drum concrete mixer

Accoring to Wichita (2022), a concrete mixer is a motorized piece of equipment that

mixes concrete, materials such as sand or gravel, and water to produce concrete. Concrete
mixers come in a variety of sizes, ranging from large industrial mixing trucks to small,
portable concrete mixers known as micro mixers. A concrete mixer consists of three major
components: a motor, a rotating drum, and, in some cases, a chute. Concrete materials
spin around inside the drum, mixing uniformly and remaining soft for application and
shaping. In today's market, consistent homogeneity and low mixing times are becoming
increasingly important in the industrial manufacture of ready-mix concrete, particularly
precast/prestressed concrete. As a result, new technologies for producing concrete have
emerged. Twin-shaft batch mixers are becoming increasingly important for producing high-
quality concrete around the world. They generate a lot of turbulence in the mix and achieve
95 percent homogeneity in only 30 seconds per batch of mixing.
Based on the statement of international companies, mobile mixers transport
materials like sand, cement, and coarse aggregates in divided bins mounted on the unit; all
bins are loaded from the top, and the cement bin has a watertight cover. Water is also
carried on the mixer unit in tanks, the size of which varies depending on the model. Sand
and stone are transported in an open-topped, side-by-side divided bin, with the sand side
holding 45% of the bin's volume and the stone side holding 55%. The versatility of mobile
mixers allows for virtually unlimited concrete mixes; aggregates can be carried separately or
mixed as needed according to the design mix. Cement is transported in a watertight bin
equipped with automatic vibrators and mechanical devices to ensure precise cement
proportioning and consistent cement flow to the feeder. Water is carried in the tanks and
pumped into the mixer; water flow controls and flowmeters precisely monitor the flow,
automatically stopping and starting whenever the conveyor belt is stopped or started. Other
liquid admixtures, such as accelerators, retarders, air entraining agents, modified latex, and
so on, can be carried in a separate system that introduces the ingredient as needed via flow
controls and flowmeters for other concrete output requirements or specialty jobs.

Aside from the size and amount of space required to maintain a mobile mixer,
portable equipment can outperform traditional drum mixers because it can get to many
places and the concrete mix can be easily changed. Materials are stored in separate bins,
allowing for a new mix with each delivery. Multiple jobs can be completed without returning
the equipment to the batch plant. Ideal for remote locations or when a batch plant cannot be
installed on-site. It also reduce concrete waste and minimize shortages by mixing only what
will be needed. These mixers, like any other concrete plant, can be customized to add color
and admixtures to the concrete batch.
