the pocket of Mr. Lungs are the
questions from the last lesson.

All you have to do is to pass Mr. Lungs

next to your classmate while the music
is playing. As the music stops, the
student holding Mr. Lungs will get a
question and answer it. Is that clear?
Yes, Ma’am.

(The students will pass Mr.

Lungs to their classmates.)
Questions:
1. It is the organ that pumps blood
to the different parts of the
body. HEART

2. This is the organ that supplies

oxygen to the body. LUNGS

3. What is the organ that filters

blood? KIDNEY

It seems that you understand our

lesson the last meeting. Do you have
any questions?

None, Ma’am.

C. LESSON PROPER Everyone, will you please stand.

(The students will stand.)
Do thefollowing.
1. Breathe in, breathe out.
2. Jump in place.
3. Tap your seatmate’s shoulder.
4. Point out a thing that is red in
color.
5. Add 21+8
6. Describe your best friend.
(The students will participate)
Okay class thanks for your
participation, you may take your seat.

You are able to follow my instructions a

while ago because of a specific organ in
your body. This amazing organ controls
everything you do. Your gestures,
thoughts, memory, and function of
many organs within your body is being
controlled by it. What do you think is
this organ?
BRAIN
Very good! Can you point out your
brain where it is located in your body?
(The students will point their
head.)
Nice! The brain is located inside your
head. It is being protected by the skull,
which is the bone that covers your
brain.

The brain also controls our senses, and

here are the five senses of the body.

(The teacher will flash photos of 5

senses in the power point
presentation.)

What do you think is this sense? Sight.

Nice! What part of your body is Eyes, Ma’am.

responsible for seeing?

Very good! Now, take a look at this (The student will do the
photo and find the umbrella. activity)

You’ve found it! That’s how our sight

works! The moment you open your
eyes, your sense of sight is working:
you observe things, being aware of
your paths when you walk, being able
to distinguish colors, seeing your
classmates, families and environment. Yes, Ma’am.
Understood?

Now, this photo. What sense do you Hearing.

think it is?

Very good! What part of your body is Ears, Ma’am.

responsible for hearing?

Ears are important for us to hear

people, animals, and things around us.
I will play short audio clips and guess
what animal it is.
(The students will guess the
(The teacher will play short audio clips) sound of the audio clips)

Very good, class! Every animal differs

the sound they make. They create
unique sounds of their own. And the
moment you can hear and distinguish
it, your sense of hearing works well!
Yes, Ma’am.
Can you follow?
Touch.
Third photo, what do you think it is?

Very good, and what part of your body SKIN

is responsible for touching?

Nice! Trivia time! Did you know that the

SKIN is the largest organ in your body?
That’s a pretty cool fact!

Touch your desks, and give me your The desk is smooth.

observations. The desk is bumpy.
(The student’s answers varies.)

Good observation! You are able to

identify the texture, whether the thing
is hot or cold, dull or sharp, rough or
smooth, wet or dry because of your
sense of touch.
Yes, Ma’am.
Are you with me?
Taste.
Fourth photo. What is this?

Good! And the part of the body Tongue, Ma’am.

responsible for taste is?

Very good. Can you give me examples (Student’s answers varies.)

of food that tastes sweet?
(Student’s answers varies.)
Good! How about sour, bitter and
spicy?

Nice! Later you will enjoy your snacks,

because of this sense. Sense of taste.
How amazing your tongue is, right? Smell.

Last photo. What is this?

Nose, Ma’am.
And the part of your body that is
responsible for smelling is?

Very good! I will spray something and

guess what it is.
(The students will identify the
(The teacher will spray a cologne, and scents)
alcohol.)

Very good! We are also able to enjoy

the cooking of our mommy in the
kitchen using our sense of smell! Even
the smell of flowers, environment, are
all possible because of our nose. Yes, Ma’am.

Do you understand?

We are able to do everything, identify

everything, because of our senses. And
our senses are being controlled by our
BRAIN.

It controls every single action in our

body. Without the brain, we may not be
able to do anything.

IV. GENERALIZATIO Class, we have here a chart and all you

N have to do is to categorize the words
according to their senses.

I will ask you one by one.

(The students participate.)

V. APPLICATION Now that we have learned the function
of the brain on our body, group
yourselves into three and we will have
an activity.

On a sheet of paper, draw your own

illustration of heart, lungs, kidney and
brain and write down their functions on
your body. Use your crayons and bond
paper.

NOTE:
One organ per bond paper.

Can you follow?

Yes, Ma’am.

(The students will do the

activity)
