Factors of Failures

1. Educating the community or people that surrounds the child.

In the educational projects of Save the Children, the challenges lies with the people that surrounds
the child as they are harder to reach and communicate with. Many of the reasons for this are due to
their other priorities, workloads and unwillingness to engage themselves with talks and programs
regarding proper guidance on child’s welfare, rights, health and nutrition.

2. Short Attention Span

One of the educational initiatives that Save the Children conducted during the pandemic were the
‘Mapagkalingang Tahanan at Makabatang Tindahan’, as to continue their mission even at the height
of the pandemic. The program centered on educating the parents on how to raise a child using social
media, specifically through a YouTube video where people spend most of their time during the global
crisis. However, a small number of viewers were able to appreciate the campaign because of its
time-consuming lecture and the short attention span of the parents which is why the program was
unsuccessful.

3. Lack of Marketing Strategy

Even though people are mostly engaged in social media, campaign videos and projects of Save the
Children conducted in online platforms was not able to sell out is because the lack of marketing
strategy on how they can cope up with the current trends, with that the message of the campaign
were not able to reach the right target audience. Also, they need to have a more suitable conceptual
campaign designs on their social media platforms such as videos with concise messages, posters and
etc.
