● Hindus believe that homosexuality does have a niche in their


society, because of ancient carvings in Hindu temples depicting
men and women engaging in homosexual sex. There are also
some Hindu deities that fall under the LGBT category. Some
Hindus would also claim that the Kama Sutra is a proof that the
second aim of Hinduism, which is kama, permits homosexuality.
Though the Kama Sutra is not considered a holy text in Hinduism
and is not widely known by Hindus.
● Homosexuality is unacceptable for Hindus. However, homosexual
relationships are present in Hindu society, and some Hindus might
argue that love is an eternal force that a couple of the same sex
can feel. A hijira. The hijras are a third-gender group in the Indian subcontinent. 13

Caste System
● Division based on the Manumriti which is considered
to be the most important and authoritative book on
Indian law.
● One of the Hinduism’s holy books, the Srimad Bhagavatam has a
part (7.11.35), which clearly says these castes must based on
skills, qualities and activities. However, in real life tradition,
castes separate people according to their birth.
