Power Supply
In the era of Technology, many inventions have risen to aid in man kinds pursuit for
knowledge and wonder. It was used to assist in answering questions pit upon directly or
from certain experiments that in which branches towards more questions. While many are
inventions are much more advanced than the technology in the previous era, it is pertinent
to know the most basic technologies because some of the current technologies are based
from the older models or are still very relevant in today’s time.

Power is the lifeblood of any electronic system and a power supply carries power to the
system. A power supply converts the power from an electrical outlet, AC current, into a
power that is safe to be delivered to the system or device, DC current. A power supply is
consisted of a Transformer, a Rectifier, a Filter, a Regulator and then the output Voltage.
The step down transformer brings the high AC voltage to low voltageAC. The conventional
germanium diodes form a full wave bridge rectifier converting AC to DC. The zener diode
acts a voltage regulator and the capacitor reduces ripple voltage and converts the pulsating
DC wave into a smooth DC output. The series current limiting resistor reduces the surge
current that flows through the diode when the capacitor is charging.
