DAY 3

RESUME SOURCING
1) Job Boards- Using job boards for searching using Boolean search, filters etc.
 Naukri - Boolean search
 Monster – Boolean search // Practical
 IIMJobs
 Hirist.com
 Indeed
 LinkedIn
 Glassdoor

2) Job Posting – Making your jobs visible on various platforms by posting them on multiple
channels. This is more of a passive recruitment.

3) Mass mailing : Sending out emails in bulk to the target audience. Also called email merge or
mail merging.

4) Referrals : One of the crucial and the most important art of sourcing is through referrals.
Employee Referrals provide immediate access to talent since they are sourced through the
personal connections of your employees. This also increase your connect with the employee
and saves you a lot of time.

5) Headhunting:  It is a a “proactive” method where headhunters are the ones approaching.

Furthermore, they only approach passive prospects. These candidates are people who are
employed and not actively seeking a new role, but are the perfect fit for that vacancy.

6) Own Database or company database(ATS): Every talent associate has its own database
which he maintains over a period. The best way to look for a candidate to search from your
existing network – this saves a lot of time and effort

7) Xraying techniques : Using precise search gives target candidates

Linkedin Xray search
 Great way to utilize search engines using LinkedIn Xray.
 You can reach out passive candidates with basic LinkedIn account
 Effective way to source outside your 2nd degree connection
 Can be done using google or bing search
- X ray Command - site:linkedin.com ( This indexes Linkedin site)
- Keywords- include details you want in a candidate like technical skills, location, title etc-
you can use Boolean search or separate using commas. EXAMPLE : site:linkedin.com
“java developer” AND (“spring or springboot)
- Negative keywords – things you DO NOT WANT to see
-inurl:(dir|directory|jobs|jobs2|title|groups|company) - NO SPACES & all lowercase
EXAMPLE
site:linkedin.com "java developer" (spring or springboot)
-inurl:(dir|directory|jobs|jobs2|title|groups|company)
BOOLEAN SEARCH
- Preparing Boolean Search
- Using AND, OR ,NOT operators, double quotes
- String Parsing
- Combining mandatory skills & Desirable skillsets
- Modify the boolean Search( How to try various combinations)
